Beautiful location, fantastic host - great place to relax.

Our host was delightful, helpful and polite. Breakfast was great and just what we expected. It was very quiet. The view was amazing and we were lucky to see a breathtaking sunset. We were allowed to check out an hour late, 1100hrs, thank you.

Starting with the garden area. The left side fence was propped up against an adjacent fence via two rusty protruding screws. The owner confirmed it had been bad for a while. In fact during our stay the fence fell into the neighbouring property. A drop of approximately three feet. Beware those, especially children, who would injure themselves on the rusty screws and, if lent on, fall through the fence then fall another three feet. The fence posts are rotten. There is a small gravel garden feature which has seen better days, the gravel is sparse and the surrounding wooden trim rotten, not attached and falling apart. It looks nothing like the listing picture. Wooden patio doors are rotten, trim hanging off with the bottom of one frame entirely missing. As we walked into the property we were met with a water stained ceiling, first impressions count. The bathroom window surround had not been cleaned for a while, spider webs and a collection of spider and fly husks within. Skirting boards had not been cleaned for a while nor had the kitchen cupboard doors. Grime collecting in the corner of the door trims and skirting. The bedroom ceiling displayed the remains of several swatted insects. Dotted around were several cobwebs that had been there for some time. The gate into the property was clearly in need to repair of replacement. A loose rusty wheel and a gate which has fallen on its hinges. Others have commented about this. Beware those with mobility issues. I’m sure the owner would open and close the gate for you but this is missing the point. Any one or two of these issues in isolation is not that bad but the compound effect adds up to a property that is a little run down. Maybe my review seems picky but at £430 for two nights, I expected better. No doubt that when new or when refurbished this property was and could be amazing. To get there it needs a deep clean, some money and time spent on refurbishing and replacing.
