The location is excellent. If you haven't booked a cruise package and are planning a DIY adventure - this is the place to stay. Close to Lepit Jetty where you can book a cruise directly through the B&B or google 'Eddie Lepit Jetty' and get a private package instead! This works out ALOT cheaper than packages but depends on you hiring a car or arranging your own transfers. We opted for car hire as this suited our itinerary and wanting to travel on to Semporna from here. The room is fairly basic but all you need for a stay close to the Kinabatangan river. Meals are limited but tasty - lunch and dinner can be purchased for a set price.
Staff were friendly and the place is great to meet new people and share stories.
They use a water pump which is switched off during afternoons and overnight. While this isn't a massive deal, when you're travelling with little ones, sometimes you need running water in the middle of the night! The double bed was quite comfortable but the singles my kids slept on was extremely firm. I ended up not-sleeping on this when one of my little ones had a nightmare.

Punctuality in river cruises, meal times and even transport (back to Sandakan)! Nora at the reception was especially helpful with enquiries.
My accommodation was at the cluster of 5 huts just outside the main entrance (pathway). It was super hot during the day, sauna-like due to its zinc sheet enclosed walls and rooftop- need to turn on aircon to the coldest, ceiling fan to the max strength for up to 20mins to cool down to acceptable comfort level. Another big issue was when the adjacent room was occupied; the floor vibrations, shaking and trembling from even normal pacing by neighbouring guests in the room was amplified and unbearable at night! Fortunately, the adjacent room was occupied only on the last night of my stay.

Staff were friendly, cruises straight down the road, 200m, value for money. We walked into town about 20min for other food choices.
These are only small issues, the pillows were unusable and the water was turned off for certain hours, so couldn’t shower, flush or clean teeth
except in these set hours
