Bedroom was clean and quiet. Bathrooms, kitchen and general space are shared. We did not meet the host, but entry access was sent beforehand and accurate. The best thing was our evening at the "Freezer Hostel" for which there was an advertising poster at Gamla Rif. This "Freezer Hostel" is also a culture center, and we had an amazing night of sing-alongs with that owner and host who played the guitar. Definitely one of the best experiences in our 12-day-Iceland trip!
The staircase was very steep and easy to bump your legs. The kitchen could have a little more general purpose staples, but there was coffee, and we appreciated that!

Great stay in an excellent location with an amazing view. Easy check in, just a lock box with a pin. It offers fantastic value for money. The room was spotless, and both bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs) were exceptionally clean as well. The kitchen was decent and had everything I needed. Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a clean, affordable place in a great location.
The pillows were not comfortable, no filling almost. The walls are also thin so it depends who's in the room next to you. We had no issues though with noise in the night.

Loved that it was a cost effective option travelling around the peninsula! The bed was comfy, and the common room decor was cute.
The night we stayed all bedrooms were occupied with a total of 10 people, and there was only one shower available. We stayed on the main level which was nice as there is a bathroom there, but to access the shower it was inconvenient and wasn’t appetizing with the number of people staying the night.
