The hotel itself was ideally placed and a walk from the main town. The room was large with adequate storeage and the bed extremely comfortable. Small toiletries were supplied in the bathroom and there was a hairdryer too. Cleaning service daily was very good and the standard of cleaning high. We chose to include the breakfast offered and the hotels Exantas restaurant. It was great value and consisted of a choice from 3 sections, main breakfast meal, cold drinks/juices and hot drinks. I would say there was enough choice for a week but might become a little repetitive if staying for longer. The location on the terrace overlooking the sea was beautiful. All of the staff, especially those in the restaurant were exceptional. The food was amazing quality (we ate there 3 nights of our 7 - including a delicious 6-course tasting menu) ns really good value for money. They also have an extensive wine list - with lots of information on the wines which are all local.
The signage for the hotel wasn't very clear and not easily accessible from the road. After a journey by bus from the airport we followed walking directions with our luggage from google maps down the hill from bus stop 4. We actually walked straight past the hotel as the signage was so small. In fact after doubling back on ourselves I recognised the sign for the restaurant and went in to discover that check-in was in there.

Location to the beach!
Nothing. A pool would have been amazing but the sea and beach were great and very close by.

The view looking out from the hotel across the bay of Megali Amnos is absolutely stunning; perfect curved bay with interesting shapes of islands and mainland on the horizon, a few boats at anchor and clear blue water. The bar area is attractive with recycled metal cheese graters and washing machine drums as light fittings. It was nice to have an early check in but as there were only about 3 other guests that was perhaps pretty easy to do. You need a sea view room, not a garden view which is in a separate building across the road. The bed was comfy and a duvet was provided which we needed in October.
When booking we were not told that all the hotel's facilities were closed; no bar or restaurant. There are signs saying not to drink the water which is not unusual in Greece but there was no where in the hotel to buy bottled water and the shop is the other end of the beach and even after boiling it in the kettle the water was unpalatable. No washing up liquid, sponge or dish towel provided, so hard to wash up - you are obviously not going to buy that when staying just one night. Kitchen equipment is pretty limited and no tea, coffee, milk etc provided, not even packets. No bottled water in the fridge. The garden is quite uncared for so the view from the balcony is not great and bearing in mind there were only about 3 other guests and we paid £80, we were surprised not to have been offered a sea view room, especially to make up for the fact that the bar and restaurant were closed and we had not been told that when booking.
