They were very kind. The room they arranged for me had very poor connectivity; I said I needed to work and they found another one that was better than the first.
Having two types of breakfast would be a bit better.

Quiet area not far from El Escorial via car (30min). Room was spacious and has been updated, heating works well and staff were nice. Free parking on site.
One of the rooms we booked smelled heavily of smoke but we eventually were able to change rooms. Breakfast is served late so we couldn’t try it. The rooms aren’t well soundproofed and the doors slam shut which is annoying at night.

We chose this hotel as a stop off on our way to Madrid to break the trip into 2. The location was right where we needed it to be. It was easy to find.
We arrived kind of late, but the entire place was closed, not a soul to be found. Luckily in the restaurant building across the street there was a waiter preparing the tables for the next day, and he was able to call someone, who told him that the keys to our room were sitting on a couch just outside around the corner fromthe reception area. We would never have found it. Then, on the first floor (where we found rooms that all started in the 500s - very disconcerting lol) we discovered our room, which, honestly whoever the hotel hired to refresh the rooms absolutely massacred it. Totally poor workmanship on an already very unfortunate choice of flooring, wall, tile, and furniture styles that are just cringe. It was clean, just in dire need of an overhaul.
