We loved our stay. The huge deck overlooking the estuary with bush all around was bliss. We saw the kangaroos swimming across from one side to the other and at many other times opposite the house or bounding past. At night we could hear the surf. It was so peaceful. As others have mentioned, the kitchen is very well equipped. Fantastic to be able to walk from the house to the Mundooi walk. It was just the break we needed. Thanks. Hopefully we'll be back!

We really enjoyed our stay. Lakefront retreat is a quality older property with quality furnishings. The beds were really comfortable and warm. Everything is supplied to make your stay comfortable. The canoe got my 12-year-old grandson off his computer games and out on the lake. The winter sun streams through the windows and it was warm enough to enjoy the sun and views out on the deck. What I really liked was sitting on the sofa in the warm lounge and watching the sun rise over the lake.

This house had everything that we wanted and needed (including electric beaters!). The house was clean and the kitchen well stocked with plenty of plates/cooking equipment/condiments. The beds were comfortable and warm with electric blankets. The deck was glorious all throughout the day with lots of birds in the surrounding trees. Highly recommend this house and the hosts were very helpful.

I love nature and this position so central to town yet so private was truly fabulous, i have raved to my friends and will definitely return. We had such a wonderful stay at this property, it's so lovely that we actually spent a lot of time there, rather than going out. Gorgeous big deck and spectacular birds to feed, a lake and canoe, what more do you need? We were all very happy during our stay, and the hosts were readily available if we had any queries. Sitting on the wharf watching the sun set with our little dogs exploring the shoreline...the kids waiting patiently to spot a member of the local kangaroo mob crossing the lake was wonderful. The house is well equipped and the kitchen is so easy to prep meals in with everything you need to dine in or lay out a take away. The deck was perfect for breakfast and any time of the day we stopped for a cup of tea or a G&T. The Lakehouse was peaceful and offered us a well earned break from the city. Merimbula is stunning...we cannot wait to come back.

Merimbula Magic!
This was our first time to this area of NSW and we could not have picked a better spot and a better place to stay. This property was exactly what we wanted! It is centrally located, has water views, good for our small dog, clean and quiet - and was within our budget.
The teenagers could walk into town and get access to activities, adults could relax on the balcony or in the shaded area by the river in front of the property, and the dog could play on the grass. There is also an excellent park at the end of the street and it is just a short walk is the fabulous Bar Beach Cafe.
We look forward to booking this property again.

Location couldn’t be better … views were outstanding … kitchen was great and used every day … feeding the birds everyday and hand feeding was incredible… puppies had a great time … this was an all round wonderful stay and we were really sad to be leaving after a week of such a relaxing holiday. I’ll give the tide 1 star - we were so keen to try the canoe but Mother Nature and the tides didn’t allow us to give it a go. Great excuse to come back again!! Thank you

Best of Both Worlds
From the moment we saw this house it was love at first sight. A cosy mid-century style home; comfortably and sensitively decorated with a nod to its bygone era. The kitchen was well equiped and a joy to cook in - e.g. sharp knives, solid breadboards, sensibly arranged. The sleeping arrangements (3 bedrooms/3 queen beds) a bonus for our group of adults (no forced short straws for single/bunk beds). The house was immaculate with nice touches throughout (fresh flowers, reading lamps next to beds etc) and provided internet (but on a limited data plan). This property was the perfect location for our group (a house with water views and a bush aspect, yet close to the shopping precinct), providing an opportunity to shelve the car and explore what Merimbula has to offer on foot.

This was our third visit and I am sure that we will be back. Only a short walk to Beach Street, the cafes and shops. If you enjoy watching birds and wildlife this is the place for you.
