About this house rental
Situated in Atenas, this lovely house for $122 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Casa Veraneras is a beautiful well built home and this high quality home provides everything you will need to enjoy a perfect vacation in the best climate of the world. The house is located in a small, peaceful and very nice gated community and has a very comfortable lay-out. The main section of the house consists of the kitchen, dining and seating/TV area. The sliding doors give access to the covered patio and the pool. The 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are located on opposite sides of the house ensuring privacy for the guests. Both rooms have doors that give access to the garden and pool area. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer. The carport in front of the house is an ideal spot to park your car. Just imagine starting your day with a tropical breakfast on the patio while enjoying the great views of the mountains. The lovely little town of Atenas is only a short drive away and has a wide range of shops, supermarkets and restaurants. The Thursday afternoon farmers market is very popular. You can´t get any of the local products fresher than there. Because of it´s central location you can discover everything this beautiful country has to offer. The airport is only 40 minutes away, the beaches an hour and it´s centrally located to the main attractions. Our experienced property management team is ready to make your stay the best it can be. After booking they will reach out to you and during your stay they are always just a phone call away. As an additional service to our house guests, they can arrange airport transfers to help you avoid the potential hassles you can experience in getting from and to the property on your travel days They also arrange car rentals and a variety of quality tours. They can arrange for you to have your fridge stocked with your favorite groceries upon arrival, or have a home cooked meal ready for you on your arrival day. For special occasions they can have a local chef come to the house to prepare a gourmet dinner. What to think of a relaxing massage at the property, it can all be arranged. After booking they will reach out to you to provide all the information you need. In the house you will find a guest manual that gives you all the information that you need on the property, the town of Atenas (restaurants, shops, medical assistance) and the extra services offered to our guests. The standard rate is based on 2 people. For every extra guest there is a $10 per person per night fee. Guests staying longer than 14 days a bi-weekly cleaning is included. Check in: Between 4 PM and 9 PM. Check-out: Before 10 AM We can be flexible at special requests and if possible, Keywords: Quality, comfort, great views, privacy, pool, safe. The first day was a little stressful due to the car rental we arranged with property manager, They promised it was going to be at the house, which it wasnt. By the time we did get the car, it was dark and because of the location of the house, we had to arrange taxi to follow and bring us to the house. They only had hand soap at the house so make sure you bring all your personal items you think you may need. As others have stated cooking untensils are also limited and there was no salt, pepper or sugar,or oil to cook with. And I was surprised there was no coffee provided either. So all in all its hard not to enjoy the area and scenery it provided. Its the little things that would bring back the guest.

Casa Veraneras was a fantastic property in an ideal location. Only a short drive to the center of Atenas, but up in the hills providing you with an amazing view! The pool was refreshing and large enough for swimming laps. An outdoor grill was perfect for BBQing. The house itself is very spacious, and would be ideal for 2 couples since there are 2 master suites on opposite sides, providing plenty of privacy. The property managers are super friendly, helpful, and quick to answer any questions you may have. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

For two senior couples travelling together, the villa was perfect. We found it more spacious than the photos implied. The interior furnishings (bed/sofas) were very comfortable. The pool was perfect.
In our 19 days, we never tired of the view. Watching day turn to night was stunning.
Although the area is not “walker friendly” as the road is steep and winding, one could manage without a car as taxis to/from town are inexpensive..
Saving the best until last…the property managers, Piet and Yvonne. We found ourselves talking advantage of virtually all of their services. Airport pickup/drop off, groceries in place on arrival, meals, in-house “chef”. They made it all happen. Many thanks, P and Y.
One suggestion, bring your own favourite cutting knife if you plan to do any cooking😁

The house itself is great and the location was a perfect base so that we could explore other areas of the country. A car is absolutely necessary. The pool has a leak and does not filter adequately. The kitchen supplies are minimal but you can get by. Don’t plan on preparing any elaborate meals though.

We greatly appreciated this home and its location. The view is fabulous. The pictures do not show the beauty of the home. The caretakers are very helpful. Yes some bugs but you have to understand you are in the mountain in CR. Loved our stay!

We were very grateful to enjoy this wonderful home located above the city of Atenas, yet not far. We were there to explore the possibility of retiring in a tennis. This was our first visit to Costa Rica and thoroughly enjoyed it. This will be lengthy but hopefully helpful to others considering this home.
-Arrange for Piet to pick you up and take you back to the airport.
- Highly recommend renting a car but do your homework. It was insane what the local company charged us for the vehicle we got. Very expensive lesson learned.
- The house is located in a mountain area. Be prepared for extremely curvy and narrow roads. My husband did okay driving but I personally never got used to it. It is close to town, 10 minutes maybe.
-The town itself is busy but small and you soon start recognizing things. A lot of streets are one way so you just need to stay alert. The flashing yellow light is a good landmark.
We did not eat at any restaurants in town so I can’t give an opinion on those.
-I downloaded a translation app and this proved invaluable. I can honestly say that everyone we met or approached was extremely kind.
- We had Piet buy us some basic groceries for our arrival. You are tired from a day of travel and it is nice to have it there. Go the next day to do your big grocery shopping.
-There are a few things that I feel that need to be mentioned about the house. It is a great place but at night the roof “pops” . It sounded like someone was banging on the door. It was loud enough that we got up out of bed and looked all around. There is no A/C. At night it helps to leave the windows open but takes a couple of nights to get used to the different noises. During the hours of 3:00 to 5:00 the sun is directly on the backside of the house. You will not find shade inside or out. There are no blinds on the doors and no sun screens on the pool deck. I hope the owner considers correcting this, it really would be a game changer.
-If you need a COVID test prior to returning home, schedule it when you get there. You can get it done town, there are two clinics. You can also get it done at the airport like we did but personally for me it was too close. Four hours before you fly out is too stressful. We also scheduled that, too.
-The El Dorado (?) Coffee Tour was very informative but also fun. Skip the lunch part.
-Overall we had a great time in a beautiful area but missed our beach, we are water babies at heart.

Relaxing stay in Paradise
Piet's listing was amazing. The view was priceless from the veranda. The home still looks and feels Brand New. Everything was wonderful. The location was good once you got came out the gated community you were near everything in Atenas. Piet was a great host very considerate to all of our request. Definitely plan on staying again.

This home was everything it advertised to be. Piet was extremely accommodating! From picking us up from the airport, getting some groceries for us, arranging for a rental car and arranging for some adventurous getaways! Atenas is A sweet little town to walk around in and explore authentic cuisine and shopping located very close to this house. The beach, volcanoes and many more fun things are about an hour drive away from this location. Enjoy the drive by stopping and experiencing some roadside shops, fruit stands, and craft stands. I highly recommend this location and I hope to return again soon.

The property managers made the check in process super simple and were very friendly and responsive. The property itself is immaculate and the grounds are well kept with a beautiful view. The only noises you hear are the birds in the morning and the breeze at night. We slept with the windows open every night and loved it. We ate breakfast at the local sodas pretty much every morning and used the grill and kitchen on site for a couple of our dinners. The kitchen had everything we needed and there are several grocery stores in the area to stock food for your stay (but we also recommend eating in some of the local restaurants). The small town of Atenas is a must visit and is only a few minutes away. Safe, clean and many little shops and again, great places to eat. We highly recommend the property.

The house was perfect and well stocked. We kept the windows open each night and allowed the high elevation cool breeze pass through. The sounds of the birds and the view while enjoying morning coffee is stunning. Such a quiet and peaceful place! The pool was perfect and the house is a great proximity to the areas we wanted to visit. We really enjoyed the town of Atenas, people are very friendly. We visited La Paz Waterfall Gardens one day, enjoyed the Tortuga Island tour another, and a full day fishing trip near Jaco. All ~1 hour easy drive from this location, served as a perfect home base.
