This Kiawah Island vacation rental is an updated three-bedroom cottage offering a wraparound deck, screened porch, and access to the seasonal community pool. The cottage is an easy 7-minute walk to the beach. The cottage greets you with beautiful hardwood floors, elevated wainscoting, and coastal charm. The open living room features a loveseat with ottomans, two cozy chairs, and a large flat-screen TV. The large, fully equipped kitchen offers stainless steel appliances (please note: refrigerator does not have an automatic ice maker) and plenty of cabinet space. A stacked washer and dryer are discreetly located in the kitchen. The rectangular dining table comfortably seats six people. The first bedroom offers a queen bed and private bathroom with shower. The other queen bedroom features a TV and shares a bathroom with a bedroom that has two twin beds. Each room has its own sink and toilet area and the shower/tub combo is shared. Both of these bedrooms have access to the side deck. The back deck and screened porch are accessed from the living room. A rocking swing, located beneath the front porch, is the perfect place to enjoy the cool ocean breeze. The cottage is equipped with washer, dryer, and high-speed wireless internet. Guests have access to the community pool (approximately 55ft x 20ft). The pool is unheated and open seasonally. Guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights come with a valuable credit to use towards beach gear rentals during your stay! The credit amount for this property is $250. You may use your credit for bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach carts, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and more – the choice is yours! During your stay on Kiawah Island, be sure to enjoy biking on the 30 miles of flat bike trails, golfing on one of five world-class courses, playing tennis, crabbing, fishing, swimming, and boating. Many families also enjoy the kids’ camp and nature programs at Night Heron Park. Kiawah Island is about 40 minutes from historic Charleston, famous for incredible shopping, galleries, antique stores, museums, the South Carolina Aquarium, horse-drawn carriage rides, historic landmarks, and sumptuous dining. A group of running friends stayed here for the marathon/half marathon. It really is the perfect location. We had a short walk to the start/finish. And then a short walk to the beach for recovery!

Home was extremely well stocked and clean .
Very easy access to beach at boardwalk #1
about 7 minute walk … community pool was even closer and was well maintained and quiet ..
only thing we found was not quite up to scratch was the deck area at back and side .. deck boards need replacing etc .. we did get new grill to replace old broken one … table umbrella perished etc … otherwise great spot

The house was in a fantastic location. The beach and the pool were a close walk. The outdoor deck area was nice in the mornings. However, the house was in a desperate state of needing updating. The cost of the rental was not equal to the quality of the space. Here are a few examples of things needing updating:
1. The carpets were disgusting. They are dark brown rather than light due to dirt.
2. The beds were extremely old and uncomfortable. They need replacing.
3. The bathtub didn't hold water (it drained constantly).
4. The air conditioner vents in the ceiling dripped water.
5. The common areas cooled nicely but the rooms didn't cool (we did check the vents and they were open). The owners did provide fans which were a life saver.
6. The stocking of the kitchen could use some improvement.
7. The screen on the door of the screen porch was busted out before we arrive so the bugs still got in.

Master room w/ bath off to one side. Then a queen bedroom and 2 twin bedroom were joined by a bathroom on the other side. They shared a shower but had their own sinks/toilets. Was great for grandparents, parents, and little ones! Nice parking and place to store bikes. Negative was not very good water pressure.

This cottage is one of a group of small homes on stilts off of Duneside Dr. on the west end of the island. The area is very quiet, and like most of the island many trees have been preserved around the cottages. The view from the back deck into the wooded lot was enjoyable. We enjoyed the house, which has a nice wood floor and sizable kitchen. Overall the house is in good shape, and some things such as the bathrooms and the kitchen counters looked to be recently updated. The house had been adequately cleaned. The beds were comfortable. There are a few things in the house that need to be updated or repaired, however. The first thing is the living room couch, which is large with a huge ottoman, and dominates the main floor space. It can only be described as "grungy". Owners need to replace it. The rugs in the bedrooms are also old and weary and stained and need to go. Might be best to have wood throughout the house. There are some deck boards that have warped on the side deck and are sticking up, but are hard to see, and one of us tripped on one. The wrought iron and tile table on the side deck has rusted through and the tiles have collapsed. Definitely needs to be replaced. We could never get the fan in the living room to come on. It has a remote and a wall switch and a pull maybe we never hit on the right combo! We drive an electric car. In order to charge we had to run an extension cord from upstairs down to the carport below the house. If it's possible to have an outlet down there (although flood ordinances may not allow it) that would be helpful. It's a bit of a slog to the beach carrying chairs and an umbrella, but if you rented all that it would be fine. The beach on that section of island is great, and the location is bicycle distance to the river where the dolphins strand feed.

First of all, great location. It's very conveniently located to the beach, pool, and Freshfields (shopping, grocery store). The home was clean. Well equipped kitchen. Large open living room / kitchen.
However we did have some issues that were not resolved, and I think the description was not very accurate.
This place majorly lacks in water pressure, there is no way anyone can take a shower if any other water source is being used. Even if no other shower, sink, washing machine, dishwasher, etc. was being used the water pressure was still terrible. When I say terrible, I mean like just barely trickling out of the shower head at times. When we tried to use both showers at the same time, it was literally just dripping. Also, the water would go from scorching hot, to freezing cold. I emailed the host (Anker Ellis) and was told that they would see about getting maintenance out there to check on it, but that never happened, and I never heard back from them.
The other issue, which was not as big of a deal, what's the pool was not open. Although I think this is out of the host control, I wish we would have known before we went. I emailed them about the pool being open, the reply I got was:they were waiting to hear back from the community pool to see when they would be open. As we explored the island all the other pools that we came across were open, it was just kind of a bummer that ours was not.
The description says that this house is a 3-minute walk to the beach, that is not true. The book inside the home says that boardwalk #2 is the closest boardwalk. This is true, but just to get to the boardwalk is about a 5-minute walk, and then an additional minute on the boardwalk. And that's walking at a very brisk pace. If you're walking with children, or someone that doesn't walk very fast, I would plan on a 7-10-minute walk. Which is still not bad, I just wish the description was a little more accurate. The book in the home also says that there is a map included. Someone else who reviewed this property mentioned that there is not a map in the home, I can confirm that there is NOT a map. It wasn't a big deal to me because we were traveling with friends who had stayed in the area prior to this trip and they knew the area well.
The description says you can park 4 cars, I think only 3 could fit.
The kitchen had only one sharp knife, several dresser drawers were broken, dinning table leg held together with tape, sliding door in bedroom non-functional.

Hello Akers Ellis and Staff,Just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at 1030 WobblerCt. We have stayed on Kiawah every year for the since 1993. We have stayedon East Beach, West Beach, and on Vanderhorst. We have stayed during allseasons. This was one of the most relaxing areas at which we stayed;Comfortable, quiet, and super close to beach and pool. Lunch at the clubhouse was within walking distance. Your rental coupon was a plus, we used itfor bicycles and beach chairs. We were pleasantly surprised that we saw notone roach live or dead, on our property during our entire stay. A first forus on Kiawah!We plan to visit this area again. The house did have a few minor issues. The rear slider and screen door needmaintenance. The large table on the deck is in need of repair orreplacement. A few boards on the deck need nailing down. There were onlyfour coffee cups so we took turns drinking when we had company. A few steakknives would be nice. There is no potato peeler, but potato skins are healthy..Scissors would be a plus. New oven mitts, pot holders, would be nice! Weused our sock. minor issues, no big deal. I'm getting silly now, sorry.I would like you to know we would definitely stay there again! we really didenjoy the home and the area.And, Kudos to the Akers Ellis staff.
