Kagi Maldives Resort & Spa

Firstly the staff who were great were excellent. However it did not compare entirely to another stay we had in Maldives at Ozen Madhoo, where the staff were incredible at ale very level, which is what you expect for these costs. Some of the staff that did really meet expectations: - Sanchita in restaurants. Great sense of humor - Basil at bar - always has a smile and very attentive - Chatura in main buffet restaurant - very welcoming and warm. No request ever too much, and we had some :) - Samir room service was brilliant - Samira provided a great intro to island and was always helping us as she was our contact for resort needs - Maria and Sudi at the spa. The massages were amazing. So good we had 2 90mins sessions in a week. Gym and spa area beautiful. There is a steam room. Can use the yoga room when no classes for personal use. Swimming pool area is beautiful. The reef is amazing after the ocean villas up to the peer in front of the main restaurant. This is really very close to shore and certainly a highlight. Lagoon and ocean villas are better than beach villas because there is a sea wall in front of beach villas. Odd number lagoon villas are better as although sunrise side - curtains are practically blackout - the sea wall is further on this side for better view. Speaker in room for clear music when chilling around the villa pool. Decent range of drinks. Pool and table tennis and other games are available if weather is not great. One night had excellent live music. Although would have been great if a little more entertainment such as live music available on more nights. Dr Shafi was knowledgeable, helpful and thoughtful to the point he was asking other staff to check up on us to see the recovery since some treatment Bats are prevalent on the island and there was a couple of baby sharks that we saw everyday in the shallow next to the beach. Completely harmless and great to look at. Little details - like water for cleaning feet everywhere.

Although some decent dishes, in general the quality of restaurants food is not a high standard. I am comparing this to another visit to Maldives where we stayed at Ozen Madhoo - also all inclusive. Although many aspects better in Kagi, the food is certainly not one. I felt like I was having fine dining in Ozen and every dish, even in the bar area were amazing. In Kagi sadly the food was not at all special in any of the restaurants - Ke un, Nonna or the main restaurant to the point that the bar burger was a highlight dish... Chatura saved the day on occasion with some fresh cut mango and steak. But this is obviously not what is expected for this price. I know that the rock walls are built to protect the island, and thus are needed, however they can be an eyesore, particularly the odd number ocean villas, even number lagoon villas and most of all the beach villas.

Brilliant location. Brilliant staff. Brilliant food. Good snorkelling. Amazing dolphins on sunset cruise.

Staff party noisy and intrusive one evening. We were left to complete complex check in procedure on an app. Couldnt book all included meals due to lack of availability.

Everything! Absolutely incredible from the food to all the staff. I would definitely recommend this place! A hidden gem 🏝️

Absolutely outstanding property in idyllic spot. Very private. At full capacity but never crowded. Food was especially good. Shout out to Mikael the chef. The best thing is the service. Staff is OUTSTANDING. Diving, snorkeling are outstanding. New Year’s party so much fun. The staff are the best.
