Located in Rotorua, this attractive cottage for $144 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Gold medal-winning accommodation and popular all year round, this lake edge property is located at Okere Fall, Lake Rotoiti. A short 15minutes from Rotorua Airport. 25 minutes into central Rotorua, and 30 minutes to Papamoa Beach,45 minutes to Tauranga. 5 minutes to the nearest cafe. Described by many as " A Modern Scandinavian" twist to the Kiwiana-themed bach, The Love Shack has a rustic blend of plywood walls, mood feature lighting, and lush soft furnishings that makes for a romantic and relaxing escape. The Love Shack has a luxurious queen size Sleepy Head Chiropractic bed- super comfy! The sleek kitchen is fitted with a modern cooktop, microwave, filtered H20 on tap along with a full-sized fridge/freezer for extended stays. A Weber baby Q bbq makes outdoor cooking a breeze. Private jetty offers the option to bring your boat and try your luck at fishing for Rainbow Trout, or just playing on the water and visiting the many bays and beaches including the famous Manupirua Hot Pools which are only accessible by boat. Visit the Okere Falls Food Store/Cafe/Beer Garden by boat or a short stroll. A great place to stock up. There are numerous activities close by including bush walks, white water rafting, golfing, and thermal attractions. Enjoy some of the best Mountain biking tracks in the world, the Redwood forest is 25 minutes from here or just kick back and enjoy kayaking on the lake. We have a selection of kayaks as well as stand up paddleboards for guests to use. Off-road parking is situated at the top by the main house with a short walk down a concrete path to the Love Shack. A reasonable fitness level of fitness is required to walk the short distance down to the Shack. There is no direct car access to the Shack. Let us know in advance if you would like to bring your boat or jet ski as we'll need to make round on the jetty. Launching is across at the Waipuna boat ramp and it's a wee just 10 minutes cruise across to us. Remember that our inlet is strictly 5 knots. Special conditions: MINIMUM STAY IN THE LOVE SHACK IS 2 NIGHTS. (Long weekends minimum three nights-ie Easter, Auckland Anniversary weekend, Queens Birthday, Labour weekend, Anzac, ). A compulsory $60 cleaning fee applies which covers removing guest rubbish, guest recycling, and laundry. Guests are provided with all linen, including sheets, shower, and swimming towels, bedding, kitchen tea towels. A well-stocked tea and coffee caddy along with some bbq essentials(oil, salt, pepper, handy towels). We also provide Body wash, Shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, Hand wash, hand sanitiser, Face wipes(for makeup removal), sanitizing wipes, bbq wipes. If wishing to bring a jet ski or boat, please let us know in advance of your stay so we can clear some room on our jetty and give you clear instructions on where to launch and park trailers.

This property is in a stunning location & absolutely everything you need is thought of. It has to be one of the best baches I have stayed in and waking up to the sounds of the birds and having coffee by the lake cannot be beaten.

Lovely lakeside retreat. Peaceful and picturesque location with modern amenities, private and surrounded by bush. This suited us perfectly as a couple. We visited the local Okere Falls Store every day for great coffee and some of the best food we've tasted. All in all a lovely time and will be back for more.

Quiet and cosey with beautiful scenery
Rural scenery and nice and quiet was perfect for a quick getaway. The bach was surrounded by lovely scenery and of course the lake rite at the doorstep. Amazed with how well kitted the kitchen was for the size of the place which was ideal for cooking any meal, and also the BBQ too. Highly recommend staying

This by far was our favourite holiday homes we’ve had the pleasure of staying in! The Love Shack really did exceed our expectations! My partner and I enjoyed the use of the kayaks & paddle boards! It really did feel like we were on holiday! Florence and Rod were great hosts, very kind & friendly! We cannot recommend this place any more! It really is a one of a kind stay! We will definitely be back again soon! :)

Everything you needed in the bach was provided including after sun spray when I got a little burnt! Thank you Flo! Definitely will recommend to our friends and we'll definitely be coming back! Especially as hubbie has discovered a mutual love of American muscle cars, especially Firebirds, with the owner!

Relax and recharge
Stay was great from the very first contact from Florence through to the reluctant need to leave (having changed plans so we could stay an extra day!).
Received a detailed msg from Florence providing all the necessary information well in advance, which was extremely helpful. Even took the trouble of sending a msg offering earlier access as was available (and turned the heater on to time with our arrival). Can’t list the many reasons why but would definitely stay again.
