This is a good hotel, not a great hotel. The sign at the front of the hotel reads as JELSOMINO Boutique Hotel. There is nothing boutique about this hotel. It is a good three star hotel. Nothing more, nothing less.
The staff are very helpful and friendly and assisted me with all my requests. My room was spacious and clean but like many hotels these days poorly lit. The heating was adequate (just) given it was way below zero outside.
The breakfast was fine but very basic.
The location of the hotel is not near the main tourist sights. It is a 30 minute bus trip to reach the Khan Shatyr for example. But it was relatively close to the main train station where arrived and departed from.
Eating out is limited in area. There is a restaurant next door, which was booked out the night I visited. But next to that is a very well stocked convenience store with prepackaged meals you can microwave before leaving the shop.
The location for tourists is poor, see early comment. The room was poorly lit and the toilet seat needs to be fixed.

Breakfast is amazing. Rooms are big. Beds are comfortable. Staff are supportive. Internet is fast.
Housekeeping is not a mandatory daily activity. We stay 3 nights there but no housekeeping so far happened.
Faucet on Bathroom sink tends to be slightly damage. TV not working. Telephone not working. Location is quite far to touristic areas but anyhow it can be manage by Yandex which is very cheap.

The hotel looks nice and the room is very big. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom modern, with a hair dryer. There is also a little fridge. You are given water bottles and lots of nice smelling toiletries. Super cheap. One very kind receptionist.
In general the lack of cleaning. The shower had black mold in the corners. That kind of a thing can be removed with proper cleaning. My room was cleaned only upon my request, five days into my stay, and once more 5 days later. I asked for the sink and the shower to be cleaned every day, which was not done. During my stay more mold grew around the sink and it was not cleaned during the last cleaning. I also only got one roll of toilet paper on arrival, and had to go to the reception every time to get a new one. I would always get only one. The bed sheets smelt weird after a day, but I have accounted the same problem in several other places I stayed in the past, so I think the problem might just be smelly pillows, covers or the matresse. Upon my first entry in the room there was a strong smell of old dirty fabric. I thought it was the carpet, as they are impossible to clean enough, but keeping my window open helped a little bit. There was no heating in the room, but there was a little heating unit I used during two cold days. Not perfect, but it helped. In general, the hotel has a lot of petential but it lacks proper and regular cleaning. I suggest getting rid of the carpets. Out of three receptionists I met, only one spoke English. The one on arrival hardly said anything so I felt uneasy and unwelcome.
