The room was nice and clean, decent size. The breakfast was good.

I really don't like the bathroom door ( glass sliding door with stripes of clear and coloured glass) it didn't give me the privacy feeling while showering or using the toilet. The door was next to the room door , so if my partner decides to leave while I'm showering someone passing by the hallway can see me. They had a system issue separating my reservation on two. The first day a lady almost enter the room while I was sleeping because the system showed her that the room is empty. After we get back in the afternoon we couldn't enter the room ourselves. It was solved by the reception, but still was a bit upsetting. The first morning we wasn't on the breakfast list so we needed to wait extra reception to confirm we have breakfast included, also solved, but still a bit upsetting.

Barbara gave us a upgrade as it was our anniversary which was very kind

Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable enough. The rate is good considering use of the gym and pool is included. There was a lovely free breakfast spread on for anyone running the Great North Run which was a lovely touch.

Rooms are looking a little tired. Car park needs resurfacing, especially now they are charging for parking. Pillows are a bit thin, even using the extra ones.
