Old but beautifully updated. Cosy bars and snugs with a breakfast room full of light.

Not enough parking . Noisy barrel delivery at 5am.

Not knowing it had such a steep huge set of stairs and no elevator. Staff were always MIS so patrons had to stand and wait and wonder where they were - this happened in the bar, the dining room and at reception. Maybe the staff are spread too thin.

Location was fab, room was very nice, bed and pillows were a bit hard but i suppose that's just personal. friendly staff. The only downside personally was that the fire was not lit and on in the bar area as i was looking forward to a nice relaxing few drinks in the bar in a chair by the warm fire. Apparently the chimney was waiting to be swept but I kind of think as it's nearly November it should have been done already so customers can use it in the winter months.

The location is great as it's right at the edge of the centre and easy to walk from. Most of the staff were welcoming and polite.

I was initially allocated a 'courtyard' room, which used to be a courtyard for the horses but is currently used as parking and for rubbish bins so not the most inviting or quiet space. I asked to be moved to another room where the only option in the main building was a single room, which meant I lost any difference in the price of the rooms. I felt safer in that room, but the water pressure in the bathroom was really lacking.
