The price was well worth it, if you really take advantage of all the amenities, it will be.
The room was really big, it even had a sofa and table, also a refrigerator. And in the lobby you had a microwave and free water.
The bathroom was a good size.
The onsen was supreme, it's gendered so take that into consideration, you could have a bath there and then depending on the hour, have some probiotic drinks or ice-cream. It's a really nice experience, you just have to get over the being naked part.
Also in the nights there is free ramen! Even if you had early dinner elsewhere, a nice bowl of half ramen as a late night snack hits the spot.
They also can hold your luggage for you if you get into the hotel before check-in time or when you check-out if you want to enjoy your last day fully.
Oh! another nice touch was: they give you slippers and pajamas they replace every day, it was so jappanese and nice.
Honestly, it was all pretty awesome, the price is a little more than normal hotels but being so near Kyoto Station and having all these nice amenities makes it worth it.
I would really recommend if you are willing to expend a little bit more for the experience without being a full-on Ryokan but having some traditional things like the onsen and the pajamas.
