Palita Lodge is at the quiet end of Haad Rin beach. It is a lovely environment that reminded me a bit of ‘old Thailand’, relaxed, friendly and less concrete than you see everywhere today. The resort has a pool, direct access to the sandy beach and swimming area, a kayak and paddleboard you can borrow, beach towels, bean bags and they did pick ups from the port as well as various day trips. The breakfast is great, a welcome from the average buffets you get in most places. You choose two dishes from a menu and they are then made to order. All in all had a lovely and relaxing time here. The owners are a family and can’t do enough to help. They really care.
The entrance to the site made me think we’d made an awful mistake. There is building work going on either site.

We first stayed here 2 years ago at Bungalow 104. We loved it so much we decided to rebook again as part of our 2026 Far East Tour. To be honest it couldn’t be any better. It was perfect. Great bungalow, located less than 10M from the pool & 15M from the sea front. Place was really clean whilst the bed & pillows really comfortable. Miss Sue & her staff were amazing, always courteous, professional, efficient & kind & couldn’t do enough to help you. Thank you Omm for looking after us at our breakfast table. Breakfast was served on a lovely terrace overlooking Haad Rin beach & felt very tranquil. We ate at Palita Lodge every evening & the Thai food was some of the best we’ve ever tasted and was good value for money. Palita Lodge is located on the quieter end of Haad Rin beach but only a few minutes walk to the livelier bars and fire shows. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and hopefully we’ll be back for our 3rd stay one day (soon)
Nothing we didn’t like. But don’t let the back entrance where the taxi drops you off deter you ( it can look a little unfinished)

It looks like you are inside the jungle and when you walk out the lodge you have in front of you the most beautiful beach of the entire island!
Everything was great!

The beachfront location is genuinely beautiful, and the beach bungalows are in a prime spot with a great view, just steps from the water. Housekeeping was good and the room was kept clean.
During the day there was constant construction noise nearby and loud music from party boats anchored offshore. If you’re in a beach bungalow, the shade trees in front attract people all day, so you often have groups gathering right in front of your place. The air conditioning never really cooled the room. Even when set to 18 degrees non-stop, it never felt close to that, which made it uncomfortable. Breakfast was extremely disappointing; you choose from a small menu, and portions are tiny. The French toast was two small slices of bread; the fried eggs were literally two small eggs with one thin strip of bacon. Way below expectations. Like other reviewers also noted, there are notable extra costs. The transfer to and from the pier for a 15–20 minute ride was around 600 baht each, which added to the sense that the resort tries to find extra charges in different ways. Overall, the noise, dated feel, very limited breakfast, and extra charges, it didn’t feel like good value for money. Based on our stay, we wouldn’t recommend it.
