Cute cabin with sea views & pup friendly!

Amazing location with sea views and puppy friendly! I've been meaning to stay at South Coast Retreat for years, and now that I've been, I don't know what took me so long! It's so hard to find good, clean and suitable accommodation with my service dog, even despite the fact that she is meant to be allowed to come anywhere with me. I have a disability and this place was perfect for some relaxing and respite before i start work again after a long hiatus due to my health condition. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. The little cabin we stayed in was small, but perfect for our needs. Very clean, all tiled for easy cleaning from doggy hair and trips to the beach. It had a really cute little enclosed balcony with a gate and lock to keep your pup safe and secure. Will definitely be back with friends! They also have a really cool "glamping" section of the retreat, and I checked out the facilities during my stay. It's perfect for larger families, groups of friends etc. The retreat has communal fire pits with log seats, ping pong tables, communal library to swap, borrow or take books with you, games to use during your stay, free laundry room with washer and dryer and well appointed first aid cupboard for any mishaps. The property is right on the water, so if yiu stay in the cabins on the water side you have a view od the sea. Huge grassed park area only metres from your doorstep with lots of space for puppies and kids to play. An amazing playground and then of course the sea which is just a few steps further. It's calm waters, so good for your pup to have a little splash about. There are cute eateries, great fish and chips and a local IGA in close proximity. Couldn't ask for more!

My cabin was slightly smaller than I pictured, but no biggie. It was just right for me and my service puppa.

Cosy glamping

The tent was comfy and the heater worked really well! It was super windy they weekend we were away but the tent stayed in place! Lovely walks in the area and great dog beaches.

WE had a fantastic stay

Fantastic property with river views. Very clean. Quiet and met our expectation fully.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable and there were no wine glasses!!

Pleasant

The position of the cabin was lovely, it was clean and the laundry facilities were good.

We think it was a little overpriced. The shower gel was empty and the door was extremely difficult to open, close and lock!

it was an average stay because of the high price. overall

it was clean, hassle free I liked the little kitchen and microwave and towels and shampoo conditioner, blow dryer. heater fan (loved that) it was highly convenient to have the basics around.

there is absolutely no staff on property which meant that anything we needed we didn’t want to call this one person off site. we needed a couple more towels and there was no one there to ask. there was no basic for a few things like moisturiser, toothbrush, toothpaste, tissue box. no kind of kitchen or pantry for breakfast or any food access. the Neighbourhood was dead quiet after 5pm, for any food we had to go culburra beach (which closes 8pm too), or nowra. it was right off the main road and we could hear cars, people walking, everything on the street. it is a very nice and clean property with lack of some basic things which would have been fine if it was cheaper. for this value, we do expect everything like a standard hotel facility. if it was say $100-140 per night, we wouldn’t mind we would set an expectation. but for over $250 per night, I could have stayed in a fancy resort or Accor hotel group.

The studio was sooo small and no storage area to put stuff in instead of on the tiny floor area available.

Fantastic Glamping Safari Tents

Loved the glamping experience, self contained units were well put together!

Little Electric grills could be replaced, too rickety and hazardous……neighbourhood Dog barks incessantly, really annoying

Wonderful tranquil location - we'd come again!

Wonderful location on the bay, beautiful park and promenade. Very good Cafe next door with very friendly owners and staff.

The room isn't well designed, bathroom is very large, but there is no space to put the luggage in the main room.

Hidden Gem with the whole family

Pet friendly accommodation. My husband and I loved this accommodation and location so much we left and as we were driving home we booked our next stay

Ummmmmm this is hard. The only thing I could suggest would be a microwave container in the kitchen but honestly that is all. We really loved staying here

Exceptional

Safari tents were fun and comfortable and our dog could be there as well. Pub had great pizzas, local beaches like callala were so beautiful. Oh and when the fairy lights came on at night it was magical!

The noisy bird chirping early in the morning so I couldn't sleep!

overall pretty reasonable, tidy grounds and clean accommodation with comfortable beds

Location was great, friendly staff, easy check in

a little on the pricey side and not as glam as we were expecting. unfortunately we also had some very noisey neighbours
