We love were the hotel is situated. We also love that it resembles the old type of hotel, with the staff and service.
We did find the pillows very hard.

Lovely big room, very clean, comfortable, good view of the sea. Well designed, spacious bathroom
Breakfast was good.
Excellent location
Servicing of room had to be requested. Expected it to be done unless we opted out at the Grand Hotel.
At breakfast tea and coffee was not freshly made. Expected a coffee machine and selection of tea bags. Had to ask for Earl Grey tea and was given tea bags from the kitchen but a selection was not freely available.
To use the pool facility involved a complicated procedure, not properly explained.
The fire alarm went off twice, once in the middle of the night. There was no information for the poor guests standing outside in their night clothes wondering when they would be able to go back in as evidently there was no fire.
The staff did not explain to guests procedures nor apologise for the inconvenience.
No working internal phones to use to contact reception.
The hotel seemed to operate with a skeleton staff, who had to work very hard to keep guests happy.
