Oceanfront Cottage newly renovated: New Oceanfront Master BR for 2023 season
About this cottage rental
Located in Campobello, this lovely cottage for $242 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. The 1948 Periwinkle Cottage underwent a 2021 renovation that turned this oceanfront cottage into a gem! We have now in 2023 added a new Master bedroom overlooking the ocean with views to die for! We also built a much larger screened in porch and larger outdoor decks. The three bedroom and loft cottage has a living room and dining room overlooking the ocean. The open deck has been expanded to a large wraparound deck with seating and dining areas. The screened in porch remains for enjoying the outdoors after dark or during the day. The cottage has added a washer and dryer, new kitchen and bathroom and ship lap on the walls to add to your experience! CHECK OUT THE AMAZING DRONE VIDEOS FROM ABOVE, INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE PERIWINKLE COTTAGE. You will find this in the photos section where you go to camera setting on mobile phone and scan to watch. The Periwinkle Cottage is a charming cottage in the woods with a lovely ocean view. The Periwinkle Cottage is tucked in the woods above a cove one mile south of the northern tip of Campobello Island and within walking distance of the beautiful East Quoddy Head Harbour Lighthouse and the Head Harbour wharf where working fishing boats dock and Whale Watch Tours take on passengers. The East Quoddy Head Lighthouse is one of the most photographed in the world . At low tide you can walk on the ocean floor to go over to the island the lighthouse sits. The Periwinkle Cottage has an expansive deck for bird and whale watching and a lovely view of the Pasamaquoddy Bay. Enjoy dining alfresco with eagles and ospreys flying overhead and the sounds of whales feeding in the cove below. Easy, close-up views of whales are frequent in the summer and early fall. This is a private and charming retreat surrounded by trees and Adirondack chairs on the cliff overlooking the water with firepit. Read all the reviews! Our guests love it! We had a fabulous time on Campobello Island, in large part because of our amazing accommodations. The Periwinkle house is amazing - so well appointment, thoughtfully decorated, terrific host, great towels and pillows, and the VIEW! Super clean, location is perfect, we loved all of it. Great Place
The wife and I had a short two day stay at the starfish cottage and be absolutely loved it, large cottage with everything we needed, love the island and the local residents, we will be sure to go back again

Campobello at its finest.
We loved our stay at Periwinkle cottage on Campobello. It was just the two of us and it is quaint and charming and well supplied. The weather didn't cooperate with our stay but that didn't matter. The cottage is right down the street from the Lighthouse and close to The Pier Restaurant which is great. If you want to try out Campobello, give this cottage a try.

We loved the little cabin!
Played cards out on the screened in porch in the evenings. My teenager even slept out there every night.
The weather was perfect. If it had rained the cabin would have been a little small for the 3 of us but we would have made it work.

Oceanfront, but with huge amount of mosquitoes! Terrible miscommunication, no person available for check in and check out, no instruction message in advance about how to check in as promised, almost asking help from the police...

Can’t wait to go back!
This cute, quiet cabin was everything I had hoped it would be. I really want to go back perhaps in September next year to experience a different season on the island. I am an avid bicycle rider and the roads were awesome to bike on with very respectful drivers. Thanks Dennis and Margaret for sharing your little piece of heaven with us 🙂�🇨�🇦�🇨�🇦�

PERFECTION
This was truly a dream location, comfort, beautiful views, porpoise, seals, lobster boats, great food at the pier and just an awesome experience. Thank you so much Dennis, we will certainly always remember our 40th anniversary trip.

Delightful property
Lovely cottage, fully equipped and very clean. Owner very easy to connect with and very accommodating. Lots to see even before season officially begins. Loved late lunches on screened in porch and deck. Will return to catch migration of whales. Remember to top off gas tank before leaving Lubec -- no gas on Island. Great meals at The Porch. Numerous places to walk. Visits same spots at high and low tides to experience the amazing visual differences. Narrow entrance off Lighthouse Road and limited space to park, but manageable.

Cozy and peaceful
We had a wonderful stay at Periwinkle Cottage. The cottage is very small but has everything we needed and the screened in porch and deck are both great places to hang out when not exploring. It is extremely easy to cross the border into Lubec where we did some hiking and shopping. Campobello is such an interesting place and has miles of trails.

Delightful location with everything you need to relax!
Sitting on the porch watching the whales go by is one of the most relaxing experiences we have had this year. Though there is satellite TV in the room, we never turned it on! The property was cozy, clean, comfortable and outfitted with everything we might need (except soap and shampoo - be sure to bring some). Dennis, the host, was warm and friendly - even going so far as to extend us an invite to his family & friend's party one night. Though there isn't much to do on the island besides being outdoors, we found it perfect for the relaxation we were hoping to experience. We are panning to return next year!

Cottage is rustic and cozy. It was equipped with everything we needed, and then some. The location is great; close to the lighthouse and restaurants. The property is very quiet and relaxing. We loved the screened in porch and the view. Periwinkle cottage is a great place to go to “get away from it all”. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Whales abound
Bring your binoculars because you don’t need to leave the deck to go whale watching.
That cottage was spotless and the hosts were especially nice. It’s small but don’t be put off by that. You will spend most of your time on the screens porch, deck, or fire pit by the water.

An amazing gem
Spent five days here. The cabin is small but cozy and is clean. The best part is the screen in porch and the deck off that. I really enjoyed sitting at the waters edge looking for whales. 144 whale sightings in the five days I was there. I looked for whales every morning for four hours and five hours in afternoon into evening. Such a relaxing place to stay. I will definitely come back
