For a place of sleep and showering, it did its job.

The area is perfect for all things walking distance. It is clean, comfy, and enough for two people.

I was “upgraded” to the sister hotel Goldenen Lowen without my permission (i don’t know if this is a good thing). There are barely any plugs in the room or near the beds. No full length mirror and one fan for two people during hot days isnt enough. Also be advised the advertised price on this website is not what you pay because you need to factor tourist tax.

Great location but staff is overworked and exhausted.

Location is fantastic furnitures are simple but of good quality

The hotel is short staffed and The employees are clearly overworked and exhausted and you will feel it dramatically. I don’t blame the employees ! We have witnessed that they are working hours looks crazy with early shift in the hotel and late shifts in a restaurant associated with the hotel in the evening. This does not seem to be a one time thing but a recurring one! It really negatively affected our stay and I really felt sorry for the employees.

Disappointing

Locatiin is great

Price for service and room is too expensive. The bathroom was not great. Shower tray was getting blocked and toilet was moving. I asked for a shampoo and it was only 1 small bottle waa given to me by them stating that they did not have many. Breakfast was very poor.

overpriced stay in the old city center

Good location. Enough space in the bathroom. Good pressure on water pipes and very hot water. comfortable bed.

To be fair to future guests, the owners should consider a couple of things to change or mend. The room door needs fixing. In general, while being in a quiet place of the town, the hotel suffers from the noise the doors make when guests leave their rooms. The bathroom only contains a bathtub, which makes showering without spilling water everywhere in the bathroom almost impossible. I asked for parking but never got an answer. I expected an answer before arriving but neither the Booking.com BOT nor the lady at the reception did respond. All in all it felt the hotel had seen better times, and considering the prize and the class (three stars) I felt this was overpriced.

Nice hotel, really comfortable bed. The location is top!

That was written, that we can check in till 23:00. But when we arrived around 18:30 the hotel was closed and after I called the hotel they told that the check in in the hotel is till 17:00 and we have to come to another restaurant to check in. The thing is that I called the hotel at the same day to ask if we need extra corona test, I mentioned the arriving time and they didn’t say anything. And when I called after arrival the girl on the phone was really rude that it’s kind of my fault and I should have read the information properly. Couple of days before arriving they wrote in Booking app if we would come and I answered yes, and asked about corona test. No one answered me. Looks like the communication between the hotel and booking customers fails.

Great location, flexible staff (we were able to check in early without any problem at all), nice breakfast with a good range of options.

The rooms weren’t particularly well soundproofed so you heard everything that was happening on the stairs and in other guests’ rooms. The rooms were a little cold and some of the radiators didn’t work but otherwise decent facilities. Unfortunately, communication with on site staff was very difficult - and it wasn’t only us that experienced this during our stay as we heard other guests commenting on this too. Whilst the on site housemaid (who doubled as receptionist, breakfast server etc - she was actually the only member of staff we ever met on site in all roles) was pleasant enough, she didn’t speak any English and we had to get by with sign gestures and Google translate. This made it troublesome to take basic discussions and caused some confusion.

Poor

Nobody at the reception afternoon, even for the check in before 17h. Wifi very poor connection. I took 4 nights, but the reception gave me the password only in 48 hours expiry. So, 3rd evening, I had to walk again at the reception to look for the paper.

Disappointing

The location was perfect; directly across from Friedrichsbad and around the corner from Caracalle, near plenty of cafe's, restaurants and shopping. Staff was friendly and room sizes about average.

Our bedding was itchy, possibly from detergent (all was clean) and our pillows very under-stuffed, almost flat. Not great for a relaxing getaway.

Good size, clean and comfortable rooms. Hotel well located and with good breakfast

Room was too hot when we entered, so I put both windows wide open but then you will hear the street noise at night and in the morning.

Superb

This hotel has an exceptional location in the hearty of Baden Baden. On the top floor only two rooms, lack of balcony more than made up for by having a small outside terrace area for use.

Late check in means that you have to go to another location to receive your keys - but a minor issue when compared to location and comfort.

Nice hotel, but the staff is cold and a little strange with last minutes changes

I booked the hotel bischoff and was moved from the hotel owner to another one of his hotels (Hotel Alte Laterne). It was not a problem at first, because the Alte Laterne hotel was very cute and nice.

But we have choose the hotel bischoff amongst others based on the breakfast comments. And the Alte Laterne had a breakfast that was not exactly as described from the hotel bischoff. We even had to pay to have croissants... Moreover I have asked for a parking slot which I received at first. But then I was refund for the parking costs and had to move the car during my stay for apparently no reason. Curious way to do client management.

Awesome

Staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is awesome. Their restaurant also nice as well. The location is in the middle of everything.

There is only 1 small trash can in the bathroom. It would be nicer to have it in the room as well
