AC Hotel Ponferrada by Marriott

Cleanliness was perfect, cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in. I enjoyed having the ability to take a bath in their deep bath tub. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I stayed alone in my room (the smallest room) which is perfect for one person only. I would have upgraded to a larger room if I was traveling with my husband. The staff at the hotel always made an effort to go above and beyond. Breakfast was great quality- cereals for kids, pastries, Spanish tortilla, selection of ham, juices, etc-something for everyone. I stayed in July 2026 and the air conditioning works very well. This was my second time staying at this hotel and whenever I return to Ponferrada, I will choose this hotel again. There are cafes around the hotel and the walkability of the location of the hotel is excellent. 15 minutes walk to the downtown main plaza, castle, city markets, etc. There are small supermarkets within 3 min walk of this hotel. There is an outdoor pool owned by the City of Ponferrada about 5-10 minute walk away from the hotel.

There really is not anything I would change. I would have loved to have a pool onsite but I just don't think it's possible given the architecture and space. There is an outdoor pool about 2 blocks away which we went to one day with our extended family who lives in Ponferrada.

Good, clean super helpful staff and free parking for motorbikes. 10min walk to the Castel and main square.

I am a frequent user of Ac hotels and have to say that this one is not up to the standard of the chain. THe hotel was old, the room and bathroom were very old and the breakfast was not up the AC standards.
