Excellent place to stay if you need to be in the Stansted area or are going to the airport. Comfortable rooms, welcoming hosts and a great breakfast. Pub down the road within walking distance for dinner

I love history anyway, so to stay in an original 17th Centry house was amazing!! The owner has kept it looking as it should, inside and out, but with the added bonus of super king beds, ensuites, TV/WiFi, and plug sockets/USB chargers. Breakfast is extra, but a very reasonable £12 each per day. Cooked breakfast only, although cereals and fruit and jelly are provided too, we didn't eat these, so not sure if they are extra. The cooked breakfasts are huge! Very tasty, but more than I could eat, I felt guilty not even eating scrambled eggs on toast!. Mt partner managed all of his plus toast! Orange juice, Tea or coffee included. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable. We should have been on the first floor but, when she saw our case, and I explained my mobility she swapped us for a ground floor room. As the house is in a quiet location there was no loud traffic or disturbances. Overall our stay was wonderful.
I can't think of anything that I didn't like! I suppose the only thing, but I had guessed anyway, was that breakfast was not included in the booking.com price. I was alerted by the owner on arrival. Also, the communication between booking.com and me and The Cottage was a little weird. I woulld have preferred to be in direct contact with the owner.
