Very costly, you have to pay every time you want to leave the hotel and the transfers are very very expensive

The accommodation was stunning and the staff was friendly and helpful
We stayed at Relax Resort on Phi Phi and left disappointed by a few things that should have been straightforward.
There were no bar fridges in the rooms. That is a real inconvenience in this heat, especially if you want to keep drinks cold without trekking back and forth.
We bought drinks from the resort at the beach, then were charged extra for ice to go with them. Paying for ice on drinks you have already purchased from the same place felt petty and unnecessary.
When we raised this with Zu, the newly appointed cashier, the response was worse than the charge. She was rude, told us we could write a bad review, and said she did not mind. That is not how a complaint should be handled.
The rest of the staff was super. They were friendly and helpful, which made Zu’s attitude stand out even more.
The location is fine and most of the team were great, but the missing fridges, the ice charge, and Zu’s response are enough that we would not recommend the resort or stay again. Jaco Odendaal

Despite having issues with the staff as a whole, there was a single member of staff, the receptionist on the main desk (younger lady with glasses and good English) who was extremely kind, helpful and professional. She saved our trip from disaster and we would like to give her a special mention.
The saving grace of the trip was the half-day tour the hotel offers. We were able to do this as part of our check-out, leaving from the site to visit Maya/Monkey Bay before being left at Phi Phi Pier. This was great value, very helpful and we got to explore Phi Phi quickly prior to departing. The Tour really was great and the guide was also. Excellent.
Unfortunately this simple wasn't the right hotel for us and we didn't enjoy it.
Firstly, the staff. We stayed in 7 hotels during our travels in Thailand and we were always blow away by the kindness, professionalism and willingness to aid with any issues...this wasn't the case at Phi Phi Relax. Perhaps it was a language problem, but staff never smiled, never said please of thankyou as we did, and things were just a lot less warm than we have experienced. Communication via messaging was very poor before we arrived and the attitudes when we were there were the same.
The isolated nature of the location really did come into play. I guess if you want true isolation and to be able to relax, it's not a bad thing. But as someone who wanted to to this, while also seeing the rest of Phi Phi, it simply wasn't. I would also add that if it is an isolated resort, you would hope it would be better than the rest of Phi Phi, but the opposite is true. The beach wasn't great and there was very little to do in the evening; while returning to the rest of Phi Phi in the evening was mission impossible.
Everything felt quite dated and the rooms in particular were very unsecure.
The door to our apparent didn't fully close, and we had to fill gaps with towels and push bags against the interior to keep closed. We were a little nervous about leaving any valuables within.
We also noticed the curtains didn't quite cover the windows, leaving you feeling quite exposed and visible in the bathroom.
