This is such a wonderful little sanctuary on the hill with such amazing food and views. It was the perfect first stop on our Japan itinerary, giving us time to adjust and also explore the old town of Nara which was not too busy nor overwhelming, just perfect. Great to have a swimming pool in Summer but the private onsens are also there for the cooler months. The food and modern yet Japanese decor were exceptional. Would highly recommend.

Food at the Ando was of the highest order, but did require a real discipline to be at breakfast and dinner on time. The private Onsen was also very special, as was the view from our room
More flexibility around dinner/ breakfast timings would have been preferred so you didn;t feel so rushed through courses

The property provides amazing view, service was impeccable and staff is very thoughtful with their suggestion for stargazing and private bath time slot. Dinner and breakfast was amazing as well

Beautiful views but that's where it ended for us.
The restaurant only serves a coursed expensive dinner so there's no food once you're on the property. The breakfast was a set menu that didn't have anything to accommodate anyone that doesn't like very traditional Japanese food. The hotel needs a remodel and the pictures online were misleading. Would not recommend.
