The Claremont Hotel-Adult Only

The staff were all lovely. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere and we spent a lot of time sitting on the outside terrace. The complimentary coffee machine was very welcome as was the honesty bar. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice and served by the very lovely Diane. We’d love to visit again but would make sure we had a better choice of room. There were lots of guests who had visited many times before so that says a lot about the hotel.

We only had the choice of room 10 as we booked very late during a busy period so that was our fault really, but the room was very dark and a bit gloomy. We did obviously see the photos of the room before our stay but it is much darker in reality. We chose to sleep in there only really and avoided spending time in there as much as possible. Fortunately the lovely guest lounge and terrace gave us a very pleasant alternative. The Wi-Fi in the room hardly worked and the phone signal was very poor too, it was much better downstairs.

Shower cubicle was a a tad small

The breakfast was lovely. Plenty of choice and cooked to perfection. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We really felt at home there. The location in the village was low down so very accessible to the harbour, pubs and restaurants. The location to drive off to Looe, fiery, Plymouth and other places worth visiting was great.

There was just one small thing that would have made it better. When going back to our room after long days out. We like to watch a little tv. But we found it to be very poor signal. And as there was no sky then very little choice of programs to watch. This did not spoil our whole experience though. And we will definitely be returning to the Claremont.
