In a beautiful location away from all the hustle and bustle of Central Taormina. Rooms clean and look recently done, pretty gardens and shared terrace. Modern and simple. Staff are very helpful and parked our car in their garage for 20 euro a day which was well worth it. Beautiful setting for breakfast and the room both had Etna AND Seaview. We went out most days in the car so hotel perfect for that. Glad we stayed here and not central. Was a family run, local feel traditional hotel. Not fancy mod cons but perfect for us.
There's a fair climb from the centre but doesn't take that long but need to be reasonably fit. Plus quite a few stairs at the hotel. Did Isola Bella beach via the cable car and still about 9 flights of stairs to reach the beach.

Loved the staff, the aesthetics, and the cleanliness of the property!
It was a bit of a hike from the main road, and the parking situation was a little complicated.

Villa Greta offers breathtaking panoramic views over Taormina and the sea, which is undoubtedly its biggest advantage. The breakfast was above average, and the restaurant served very good food-we especially enjoyed the burrata, lasagna, and tuna spaghetti.
However, there are several downsides to consider. The hotel is quite far from the beach, and getting there every day becomes tiring. You either have to walk a lot or use the cable car, which often has very long queues, especially in the afternoon when returning from the beach. Taxis are available but quite expensive.
Housekeeping could also be improved. Although we were told that towels would be changed daily, ours were only replaced after three days and only after we specifically requested it.
The staff were generally polite and tried to be helpful, but at times we felt slightly uncomfortable. On our last day, after checking out, we had to wait several hours for our transfer to Catania Airport. We asked if we could stay in the restaurant area and order coffee and lunch at our own expense, which they agreed to. However, we were repeatedly asked when we would be leaving, giving us the impression that they wanted us to vacate the space as soon as possible. It wasn’t rude, but it didn’t feel particularly welcoming either.
