Location is private and grounds are beautiful even in the rain. Well maintained throughout and clean. Staff were attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed such a relaxed environment following Cancer Treatment. Just what we needed.
It was pretty much perfect however although the service charges on services received, such as in the lounge or bar etc were acceptable, we did not particularly feel like the service charge applied to the room booking itself were required. We did accept the charges upon check out as we were advised of this on a welcome email after we had booked, but the price agreed when we booked the room should be the price we pay. This additional charge could be built into the overall pricing as this would still be a fair price for such a luxurious stay in an exceptional one of a kind hotel.

Not great value nor luxury one would expect for £500 a night room. The taster menu was disappointing at £130 -although exquisitely crafted, it didn't touch the sides and we weren't to bed with tummies rumbling. No draught beer, just as well as charged £9 for a can.
Spa was ok, the pool area was small, gym non existent
