Hotel Gabriel

Great location for visiting Mont St Michel. Easy check in, helpful staff and perfect for what we needed.

The room we had was on the road side, so we could hear every bump on the road as vehicles went past. This was mostly the shuttle bus.

Great location. Very convenient to park the car and visit Mont saint Michel. Large room. Comfortable bed.

On arrival we were ‘met’ by the woman at reception. She barely looked up from her computer screen. There was no expression of welcome at all. It was as if we were annoying her. We were too early for check in which is 5pm which seems ridiculous. We asked if we could leave our bags and she just pointed ‘over there’. I asked what floor our room was on as we are an older couple with heavy bags. She said the second floor and there is no lift. She seemed to almost enjoy my discomfort. When we returned later in the afternoon around 4 we were happy to see she wasn’t there. Instead there was a pleasant young man who was very friendly welcoming and obliging. He informed us our room was ready. When we checked out in the morning she was back. There was no farewell and she didn’t even look up. I don’t understand her problem. She works in hospitality which by definition means welcoming and service oriented. She really left a negative feel for what was otherwise a fine hotel for what we needed. We knew when we booked that there was no lift, it was her attitude and lack of empathy which was upsetting

It was easy to find and easy close to the shuttle bus and the bus to pontorson.

Late check in compared to most hotels. The check in was 5 pm. But they did allow us to leave our luggage there.

Car park instruction could have been better. A vending machine in the lobby would be good. Creamer in the room, please. Full complement of shampoo, conditioner n shower gel expected at this price point.
