Communication from hotel right from the start was excellent.
We felt very special.
Breakfast omelette was best I've had!
Recommendations for town pubs and restaurants were spot on.
We didn't have the best view from our room, probably one of the worst really, which was a shame as the grounds are beautiful, so peaceful.

The location is excellent for walking in to the centre of St Albans and is set in a Conservation area of attractive buildings not far from the Cathedral.The gardens are beautiful and a perfect place to stroll and unwind.
The reception staff were welcoming and helpful. Many of the other young staff , albeit inexperienced,were enthusiastic and polite. The room used for breakfast overlooks the gardens and is a smashing place to start your day.
Popular as a wedding venue.
We had asked for a quiet room in advance of our stay but our allocated room was in the roof overlooking the extractor fans for the kitchen.We couldn’t sleep and had to change rooms. The room swap was done efficiently but we should have not been put in this room in the first place.
The original room was tired and somewhat dingy and in need of refreshment. The suite that we were moved to had no curtains and temporary blinds installed which let in the light.
Food served on the terrace was adequate and simple but the waiter was very aggressive and communication was challenging.
Expensive for what is provided but the building and grounds are seductive.
