Home from home experience, close to the Town Centre with free cake….what more could you ask for?

The personal touches provided by the owners (Louise and Peter) make staying at this guest house a home from home experience. Our room was upgraded on arrival which was a lovely bonus and was clean and comfortable. The selection at breakfast was good and freshly cooked for you each morning. The breakfast room was available to guests during the day to use the cutlery and plates should you wish to order a takeaway or bring food back rather than eating out. We did this one night. There was use of the fridge and a microwave as well. Louise also likes to bake so there is always free cake available. I tried a slice of her chocolate and banana cake which was very nice. Louise always referred to us by name which was another nice personal touch. The location was a simple walk into the town centre which took you past Shrewsbury Abbey. Would stay at this Guest House again.

Some of the furniture was a bit dated but didn’t affect the stay. The TV was a tad small in the room however we only ready had it on for background noise and didn’t affect us watching it. I know Louise is in the process of doing some upgrades. Neither of these things would prevent us from booking to stay here again.

Home from home

Anton House is exceptional. Louise goes the extra mile to ensure guests are happy, providing free bottled water, fresh milk and biscuits and baking cakes for when you return after a long day's sightseeing. Louise is happy to recommend places to eat. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order (porridge was delicious), and Louise takes time to introduce guests to each other. Rain shower was lovely. Although parking was on the road we never had a problem finding space.

If you are tall it may be worth calling ahead and asking for a room on the 1st floor. We were in the attic and my husband had to duck a lot to avoid beams.

Anton House is a lovely B and B, definitely recommend

Louise is very friendly and helpful with advice on where to eat and what to visit in Shrewsbury. The breakfast was superb, plenty of choice and beautifully cooked. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with a excellent hospitality tray. We will definitely return. Thank you.

Everything lovely clean well run place

Attack room very small,one of us had to sit while other moved,also low beam ,partner banged head a few times, really to small for two single beds,,this room should be a single,the price did not justify the room ,so wS disappointed the lady running house couldn't do enough

Very impressive. Loved our stay. Great owner/host . everything you could need and more. Breakfast second to none you will not find and B&B offering such selection and using top quality produce.Very accommodating let me leave bags and take a cheeky slice of cake for my son. We loved the beautiful location of Anton's! Very close to the Abbey and the city centre of Shrewsbury, yet away from the hustle and bustle. Louise is super friendly host with good tips! We also enjoyed an excellent breakfast and loved the super relaxed atmosphere! Comfortable beds and shower facilities!

My partner found the bed next to the window not to her liking. She felt that it seemed to roll towards the feet end of the bed.

Breakfast was well cooked and varied choice. Louise was very welcoming. The property was in a good location walking distance from the town centre, pubs and restaurants

the bathroom was very small although you did have everything you needed. Shampoos, shower caps etc were provided if needed. The TV was small however, again good to have may have been better mounted on the wall.

Very much enjoyed our stay and can really recommend Anton Guesthouse.

Location was close to the Abby, the Centre within walking distance. Breakfast was exceptional. Best ingredients and plentiful. Very friendly and helpful host.

Louise our hostess was delightful .very helpful and a jolly good cook.breakfasts were a treat. . Our room was very comfortable.and well equiped .and a lovey tea tray presented with biscuits and chocolates .

I dont think there was anything to not like .Everything was explained and pointed out.

Very welcoming Landlady who went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Tea and cakes available in the afternoon. Short walk into the town centre. Good Pubs close by.

Room and shower room just a bit compact. Would have liked a bit more room to spread out.

Pleasant one night stay in this well run B.and B..Large,comfortable bed in good size room.Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice.Home made cake on arrival was a welcoming start.Short and easy walk into city centre.

Better glazing would have deadened the noise from the busy road.

Superb

Louise was a lovely host, very welcoming with lovely homemade cakes & tea on arrival. Nice bathroom products & great selection of drinks in room & on offer in breakfast room. Exceptional breakfast with all local products.

Room was noisy if you slept with the window open due to the road & railway line but a fan was provided to circulate the air if you kept the window closed.

A Fantastic Shrewsbury Guest House.

Louise is a lovely welcoming host. Everywhere was spotlessly clean with every little touch added for our comfort, cold bottled water, bathrobes and slippers, corkscrew and even a small torch to mention a few. Louise cooks the best breakfasts I have eaten with premium products. The eggs are always cooked to perfection. The location is within easy reach of town (10 minutes walk). If walking is a problem then the No. 1 bus stops near the house and takes you to the town centre. Brilliant. We"ll be coming back.

Location great just 10 mins from town. Louise the host was absolutely wonderful and so helpful. Breakfast great and some lovely little extras (coffee cake in breakfast room to just help yourself) - all lovely.

A little bijoux

A small and clean B&B, full of character, lovingly curated by the excuisite Luise and family. The room had all that one would need, and more. Little details in decor and amenities that escape the minds of large hotel chain managers made it a welcome surprise. Very comfortable mattress and good quality sheets made for a good night's sleep. The dining room can be used to eat take away, useful if one wants to avoid dining in an overcrowded restaurant. Breakfast was of very good quality and prepared on the spot based on previous day's request. Luise was very helpful, providing welcome information and tips on moving around. Internet access worked better than most hotels!

If you're after a modern chain hotel, this is not for you :) Proximity to road means some noise when the window is open during the day.

Very friendly staff. Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and Louise went out of the way to ensure it was cooked with allergies in mind. Location good just a 10 min stroll to the start of town.

Wonderful, comfortable, relaxing, the room was fantastic and so was the breakfast.

Louise (host and owner ) was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely, super clean and lots of little thoughtful touches to make our stay relaxing and really comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic and the location perfect for walking in and out of the town centre. We loved it and would stay again in a heartbeat.

No negatives at all.
