Beautiful hostel with a vibe as cheerful as Mount Maunganui itself. Friendly staff, always willing to help. I had a little mishap because I lost my wallet, and a very kind girl immediately helped me, along with other hostel mates. It turns out I dropped it in the hallway near the bathroom. It was a terrible scare, but nothing serious happened đ
When I arrived, I asked if they could give me a bottom bunk, and not only did they offer it, but they also upgraded my room. I'm so grateful for that. I only stayed one night, but it was my last night on Mount Maunganui after six incredible months living here. Thank you to Pacific Coast Lodge for hosting my farewell. Thank you for everything Mount Maunganui â¤ď¸
There are no lockers in the room, but the place and the area are so safe that I don't think they're needed

The person at the reception was very helpful and friendly. I arrived a little late and he still took the time to show me everything.
Beds are terrible; you can feel every single spring. It wasnât very clean either. Bathrooms are old. I didnât feel comfortable. Also, in the middle of the night, a guy came in and left early morning again. According to the reception he was booked, but I still felt a little uneasy. It was hot and humid. I decided not to book another night and unfortunately I canât recommend.
