Breakfast was very good - bread, cheese, meats, fruit and savouries, with lots of coffee, served beautifully in a garden terrace room. The hotel has been converted from a 19th century mansion and is absolutely stunning, with huge rooms and great views. My room with balcony was palatial! Ensuite bathrooms are modern, with everything you could want. The hotel is in a pretty side street within two minutes' walking distance of the centre and very near the river, yet very peaceful at night. The staff are friendly, charming and very helpful. A definite five stars.
I liked everything! If you want a slick contemporary hotel, go elsewhere. If you want beautiful rooms, elegant furniture, a real taste of the past with all the conveniences of the present, stay here. One thing: the hotel has a grand central staircase but no lift, so there are stairs to climb to the upper floors.

Old world hotel, lots of character, staff were so friendly and helpful, great facilities, use of 2 large lounges and garden to the rear of the property. Lovely breakfast, made to order.
