Recline on a chaise lounge or curl up in a cozy window seat and admire the dancing flames from the panoramic fireplace. The Hemlock House offers all the amenities one can desire. Polished concrete floors, white walls and beamed ceilings create an airy, open space for the House’s modern furnishings and artwork. The first floor features a modern and fully equipped kitchen that will accommodate both cooking enthusiasts and professional chefs alike. The dining room table easily seats six and there are three additional seats at the adjacent breakfast bar. The floor to ceiling window walls in the living room are the main attraction supported by colorful and comfy modern furniture. This elegant escape comfortably sleeps 8. In addition to three private bedrooms, an entertainment space includes a futon. And with colorful and fun Yogibo bean bag chairs, it’s the perfect spot for kids of all ages. The Hotel has a variety of seasonal activities ranging from golf on an 18-hole and 9-hole championship golf course in the Spring to sleigh rides and dog sledding in the Winter. If pampering is on the menu, the Hotel has a full-service spa with access to whirlpools and serene relaxation rooms. Bretton Woods is the active travelers paradise. The pet cleaning fee is $125 per pet per stay, with a maximum of two pets. *Holiday periods 10 days (Dec 22 to Jan 1) 3 days (Jan 12 to 14) 7 days (Feb 16 to 23) The primary rental guest is required to read and execute a Short Term Lease Agreement (STLA). Failure by guest to execute the STLA and provide it to the host within 30 days of the reservation acceptance will result in cancellation of the reservation and forfeiture of all rental payments. For reservation requests within 30 days of the of requested date of stay, the STLA must be executed and provided to host at least 24 hours prior to date of stay. Under no circumstances will a guest be permitted the use of the host premises without the host having received and acknowledged the receipt of the executed STLA.

My husband, our daughter, her husband and their two small children stayed for the Thanksgiving weekend. The house is bright, cozy and very well stocked. The kitchen had everything that we needed to prepare our big meal. Our daughter and her family had the primary suite as it was the biggest room and could accommodate a crib (which we put in the closet) and all of them. The view of the mountains, over the house across the street, was beautiful. The five minute walk to the Omni Mt. Washington Resort allowed us to easily enjoy the hotel amenities. While we aren’t skiers, we enjoyed walking the neighborhoods and trails on the resort property. While some light curtains would have been nice to close in the late afternoon and evening, the daytime sunlight was delightful! Finally, Charles, the owner could NOT have been more attentive and helpful. The check in and out were easy and Charles was was immediately responsive to the couple of questions that we had.

If you like to hike or ski or any other awesome NH outdoor activities this is a great location for ALL of it!
One downfall was 2 hot summer days during our trip and the house does not have AC, but once the nights started to drop in temperature we we were able to manage the temperature the rest of the week. Overall beautiful house, a location to die for, and great responding host.

The spacious, modern kitchen had everything anyone could want - so convenient and fun and more views of the forest over the kitchen sink and under the cabinets. The dining room became a game room on a frigid day, when we ruled out skiing, and functioned beautifully. Bathrooms were unusually stylish and the soaking tub was a bonus. Bedrooms were very comfortable, especially the Master with a balcony and very large bath. The cleanliness and attention to detail show how much Charles cares about his house. The location is convenient to the ski lifts and I was even able to snowshoe from the house on marked trails for no extra charge. For those who care about electronics, there is no cable but a very smart TV and if you have streaming devices, you could easily see anything you like. We forgot ours and watched the Patriots on the computer. Our family had a memorable experience and may try to repeat it in the future.

The house is in the heart of Breton Woods . It was well stocked and very clean. The host was fantastic and responded to questions right away. I would recommend this place and plan on coming again …

A beautiful house in a beautiful area! My husband and I escaped to the White Mountains for a few days and really enjoyed the hiking and swimming – all close to the house. We did get some rain, but the house is very relaxing and comfortable. Charles was very informative and provided us a variety of info about activities and local attractions.

My family and I stayed at Hemlock House in Bretton Woods for a quick getaway. The house is beautifully appointed with great kitchen amenities and even a computer and printer to utilize. WiFi was excellent and the house is modern with expansive ceilings and a three sided glass fireplace - which we used.
Hemlock House is located a short walk to the hotel and has nice views of the mountains. Charles was an excellent host and offered us advice on hiking destinations and other activities in the area.
I'm just sorry we only stayed a short time. Can't wait to come back in the winter. We highly recommend Hemlock House.

This house is falsely advertised with “awe inspiring views of The White Mountains” right in the title, and includes a stunning view picture of Mt. Washington at sunset (6/41 as of 7/25/21). The description continues “from any room in this custom home you can survey the awe-inspiring mountains and rugged terrain of the Presidential Mountain range”. This may have been the case before another large house was built directly in front of Hemlock House. Now, the view from every room in the house is blocked by the neighbor across the street.
I immediately contacted the owner and questioned the description and view picture, which can be precisely matched to the a “real view picture” with the new house blocking. I requested a 50% discount because of the false claims. His response was that the community had become popular and "he could not help that someone built in front of him in a year and a half ago", and he had not had a chance to update the listing. Hmm. As a vacation property owner and host myself I know that it is my responsibility to keep my listing up to date. How else can people make informed decisions? I would have passed right by this listing if it had been accurate.
In addition to the blocked view…from every room…the house was generally dirty and run down. The carpets upstairs were buckled and dirty, there were old ant/spider bates packs throughout the house. The owner offered a 15% discount or full refund to leave at check-in, which I would have done if there were other reasonable options.
We made the most of our vacation anyway. Bretton Woods is a great base to explore the area. I’m sure it’s stunning in the winter. Very close the popular ski resorts.
It’s now a week after my initial complaint and the description and pictures remain false. I’ve opened a case with VRBO and plan to work with my credit card company for a partial refund, if necessary.

The perfect home for a mountain vacation!
Fantastic home! House is newer so very clean, radiant floors - “what a luxury” - extremely well stocked and organized (renter book with house and area information very helpful, well thought out and presented), the two floors of light were wonderful - great way to wake up with morning coffee. Our lab absolutely loved the miles of trails directly across the street. The grand Mount Washington hotel is a five minute walk away to fine dining and resort amenities. Bretton woods skiing is a three minute drive. Charles was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. Don’t overthink this one - this home hits it out of the park!

Home away from home
We have been very cautious during the pandemic and finding a comfortable clean place close to the mountain was very important to us. Hemlock House was all that and more. The heated floors, big windows with amazing views, fireplace, open concept kitchen/dining, the nice soaking tub made the experience remarkable. We were able to go back and forth to Bretton Woods in matter of minutes. Pup and I did trails around the house. Shopping areas were close by. Our family had a fantastic trip and looking forward to going back. Charles was wonderful. He was very responsive and appreciated the information he shared about where to shop and places to visit. Made planning for food and activities easy so that mom could relax and enjoy the time off. Thank you!!

We cooked and baked extensively in its fully equipped kitchen, enjoyed a puzzle, appreciated the full house audio system, and relaxed at night either talking all together or pursuing individual interests like basketball games, books, Netflix and writing. There is also a very large tub in the master bathroom which was wonderful to soak in after a full day of skiing. We travel with our dog, so being able to walk him up and down the private, quiet street was nice. Charles, the owner, was amazingly responsive and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great ski week
The house was great, very well appointed with everything you could need. Huge mudroom was great for storing ski gear. Heated floors throughout. Location was fantastic, a short drive from the ski resort, and views of both the ski resort and Mt. Washington. Easy access to hiking and cross country and hiking trails, and a short walk to the Mt. Washington hotel. The owner was very proactive and helpful. A great stay and I would definitely book again and recommend to anyone else looking to stay in the area.
