We had a great stay at Haka House K'Road. The property was exceptionally clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. We also really appreciated the excellent security and convenient location, especially as we were attending a show at The Studio nearby. For an older property, it is incredibly well maintained, and we loved hearing a little of the building's history from the staff. It was also great that everyone respected the 10pm quiet-time rule, which made for a peaceful night's sleep.
Our only minor issue was that the bathroom drains in our private room were quite slow to drain. Otherwise, we had no complaints at all and were very happy with our stay.

Tired after a long flight, I wanted a couple of nights in comfortable bed in a quiet room, which I got. I booked a night and easily extended that to two nights. The location was convenient to take a bus to the train to continue my journey. Shops nearby where I could get supplies for meals. I met a fellow traveller who was good company, a rare thing in hostels these days, when so many folks are more connected by devices to family and friends back home than interacting with fellow travellers.
Shower rooms were very small, which made it hard to get in and manipulate things to get the door closed. They also seemed damper than they should be.

In this case location, flew to Auckland for a gig which was just down the road. Pretty good value for money too.
Noise. I know it's K Road and it was a Saturday night but the windows are so poorly sealed you may as well leave them open for the amount of sound isolation they provide.
