Budget hotel, nice staff, needs TLC

It’s far from the airport but close to where our boat was for our Amazon trip. The staff was nice and breakfast was as expected with eggs and coffee to get your day started as we had a 3+ hour boat ride ahead of us.

The hotel is in desperate need of TLC. It’s “bones” are wonderful as a hotel with an interesting history but it’s definitely a budget hotel.

I recommend staying elsewhere in Iquitos, neighborhood is not great and the hotel is very damp.

Pleasant

Super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful view from breakfast area. It does have air conditioning.

The hotel is quite dated. Light streams in from the hallway through windows that don't have any blinds. Fortunately the lights turned off at 11. I really wanted to love this place because clearly it was a magnificent hotel at 1.point but it has become a bit rundown and while we didn't exactly feel unsafe walking in the area in the evening the graffiti on the front of the hotel gave us an indication that the area wasn't as secure as it might have been in the past and we didn't get the best vibe from the area.

The water in the bathroom was brown. We didn't shower or brush our teeth with the water. Afraid of getting sick.

Great staff, charming hotel.

Staff very accommodating - we came in late and requested pick up and the airport and dinner and they arranged for driver and delivery (for a price but we appreciated it). Property has lots of charm and character.

Part of the property hallway is open to the air - we did not know this and didn't use our insect repellant since we were staying in for the night. Now we know in advance.

If I come back to Iquitos I’ll definitely stay here again

I love this old, fashionable hotel with baroque styled interior suited just by the river. The room were huge and the hotel also has a really nice backyard with swimming pool. I’ve stayed in several different hotels in Iquitos, and this was the first place I didn’t hear much of the noisy city and managed to get a good nights sleep.

The breakfast could really need improvement

Never again

The airco worked good.

Everything. I arrived at the hotel. After 15 min someone opened the door and told me the hotel was closed. I said it was strange because i made a booking at booking. They told there nope there is no reservation. I showed them my reservation and asked them what now? Because i had to stay somewhere... after a time a lovely lady said we have a room you can stay there but we normally are closed. I thanked her. Entering the room: no water, we asked to fix it finally there was water but not hot water. We asked again to fix it they kept saying someone is looking at it. After 2 hours i asked again about it and the girl said 6 pm. 6:20 still nothing i got mad because i didnt shower for long time and couldnt even wash my hands. A guy did offer me a ton of water. But i needed a shower .. that where i pay for. I also didnt like the fact they kept saying then and then and then but never happened better said immediatly no water...The building was old and ugly inside. The beds were very very old... i stayed there years ago and i loved it but now its worthless.... normally everything is organized when you check in but i had to ask for the wifi code and the wifi didnt even work. The girl did offer me her internet to use from her cellphone. Finally i decided i had enough of it and went to another hotel
