About this house rental
The home consists of a large open plan kitchen, dining, lounge and reverse cycle air conditioning. Other features include pool table, satellite TV, DVD & stereo system and free wifi. There is also undercover parking at the rear of the property with dual driveway access. We offer free on-site use of two Kayaks with adult and children size lifejackets for you to explore the calm and picturesque waterways of the Harriet River. The home sleeps up to 11 people, the master bedroom has Queen bed and large ensuite with views of the Harriet River and access to the front deck. The second bedroom has a Queen bed, the third bedroom has a Queen bed and single bed and the fourth bedroom has a tri bunk and a single bed, all are serviced by the second bathroom with bath and a separate toilet. The property is situated on a double block surrounded by natural vegetation and home to many native wildlife such as wallabies, koalas and echidnas. The front of the property boasts a large deck, 4 burner BBQ and Alfresco dining and offers magnificent views of the Harriet River. Sit back and enjoy the privacy and serenity with a complimentary bottle of “Fleurieu Vines” Cabernet Sauvignon and watch the sunset. Take a short walk to the spectacular award winning Vivonne Bay Beach. The largest and most accessible bay and beach on the south coast and the best beach for swimming and surfing. The Vivonne Bay Store is open 7 days a week and sells fuel, alcohol, general supplies and a variety of food and drinks. Make sure to indulge in one of their famous Whiting Burgers. Vivonne Bay is one of the most popular places on Kangaroo Island - it’s rugged, beautiful and home to some of the island’s favourite attractions, Seal Bay Conservation Park, Little Sahara, Raptor Domain, Kangaroo Island Outdoor Action for guided Quad Bike Tours, Bush Getaway Adventures, Sandboarding and Paintball. Vivonne Bay is also conveniently located for day trips to Kelly Hill Caves, Flinders Chase National Park and Visitor Information Centre which is the gateway to Admirals Arch, Remarkable Rocks and Cape du Couedic. The house is well positioned with good views over the river. The beach is a short walk away. The house is spacious and is very well appointed. I highly recommend staying here.

We had a great time hanging out and playing pool at this property. It was well appointed with plenty of supplies in the kitchen, including great coffee and the basics (salt, pepper, tea, oil etc). We found the house to be spotlessly clean and was very comfortable. The kayaks were a great added bonus and we loved sitting out on the decking to watch the sunset. Thanks for a great stay!

We had three nights stay here. Really not long enough. Loved the location easy walk to the beach and river. Great spot to take the provided kayaks for a spin.

This property had everything we needed (plus some) and was in a great location. Vivonne Bay has an incredible beach and is also close to many of the main attractions on the island.
We were there during a heat wave but still didn't need to use the aircon due to the large verandahs on both sides of the house. It was a great home to return to after 42 degree heat elsewhere on the island. The kayaks were also great and we used these daily.

Amazing holiday
We had a wonderful stay at Vivonne Bay. The house was in a beautiful location with views over the river and a short walk to an amazing beach. The house was great with everything we needed and the kids loved playing pool and I enjoyed the spacious balcony. I’m hoping people continue to visit KI after the fires as this area and house is a place not to be missed.

Unfortunately the wifi at the house wasn't really working. We could connect, but we couldn't email or send pictures from our phones. We contacted the owners, who were very responsive. They informed us that the previous guests must have used all the data and we were out of luck. This was very frustrating for us since we reserved that house over others because it had wifi. We could have stayed somewhere else in the area for less. There was sand in one of the beds and we pulled a blanket out to curl up on the couch with and it was also sandy and full of grass spurs. I assume a previous guests used it in the yard and just put it away dirty, but we spent quite a bit of time trying to clean it up and pick spurs out of our clothing.

Good Location

Great house. Had all we needed and was close to so many attractions. The kayaks were great and wallabies came up to the door. Recommend visiting Admirals Arch, Seal Bay, Raptors Domain, Rematkable Rocks and so mych more. We will be back!

Raptor Domain and Light Houses.You can be active here or just chillout on the large elevated veranda with views, play pool walk on the lovely beach.One week wasn't
long enough will be back.

Our stay ran smoothly with no hitches.
Only one suggestion:- mobility assistance bars fitted to at least one toilet and shower would be an asset.

Very Clean great location for fantastic walks
Loved the property was spacious, clean and stove, oven and washing machine worked well. Convenient location for touring and the beautiful beach was walking distance. Brian was great to work with and promptly answered and queries. Would definitely use property again.

Great property in a convenient location
Our 3 generation family group enjoyed our stay on Kangaroo Island at the Vivonne Bay Island getaway . We loved the easy access to the river for fishing and kayaking , and the location of the house half way along the coast made it easy to get to the main attractions. Well equipped house which made for a relaxing holiday enjoyed by everyone in our group.

Good facilities, large living area made it easy for my dad who is disabled to join in, and get around. Had a wallaby visit in the evening

I recommend taking your own linen if you can. Kitchen had everything we needed except salt and pepper and sugar so just need to bring your own. Easy

Great Holiday Property
This is a great holiday property with lots of space for adults & kids. Our group of four adults had a wonderful three nights. The house layout is roomy and comfortable. The facilities are good but beginning to show wear & tear and the need for maintenance.
While there is plenty of clothes storage in the three of the bedrooms at one end of the house, the main bedroom, which is at the other end of the house, has no clothes storage or hanging facilities at all.
The location is excellent for local beach access & for exploring the central & west areas of Kangaroo Island.
The property is excellent value for money.

Great Location
We had a great 4 night stay in this house. Sadly the weather was freezing cold and windy. There is reverse cycle air con in the front room and that helped a lot to keep us warm.
The house is in a very good location so easy to access all that is on offer in this part of the island. Best fish and chips at Vivonne Bay store!!!
The house is definitely looking a bit worn but the bed was really comfortable and extra blanket kept us warm at night.
Kitchen was good too and lots of pots and pans etc.
Bathroom large and nice to have the heat lights.
Deck has a lovely view but as it was so cold and windy we didn't really get to sit out there and enjoy it much. It must be lovely in the Summer.
Make sure you visit Rustic Blue just down the road and sit on the deck with a cuppa and slice and enjoy the ambience. Lovely place to pick up gifts too.
The Remarkables and Admirals Arch are a must visit and Flinders Nat Park.
Check out Bales Beach too when you visit the Sealions. So pretty and lovely for a walk.
Everything is within 40 mins drive so this is a wonderful house to base yourself.
Hope to return and next time I think we will come in Feb when it is warmer!!
