Regretfully, our listing is only child friendly If you take 100% responsibility for the safety of your children. There are many artful pieces that could be breakable. Please do not allow them access to our elevated deck with no rail, the nearby lake and our original decor but we are open to discussion on this and have had quite a few families with children stay who all had a wonderful time. While we love pets, we generally prefer that you leave them at home although we have made the occasional exception. Clarkston is a fascinating neighborhood with more ethnic diversity in our one mile by one mile radius than all of Manhattan. Great ethnic restaurants even walkable - Try Kathmandu for Indian/Nepalese with a great and pre COVID economical lunch buffet. Check out Stone Mountain Park, just five minutes away, two fabulous Farmer's Markets and more. You are not far from downtown Atlanta and the airport. You may park in the driveway (though please employ your emergency break and part at the top to avoid any falling limbs) or on street parking. We make some exceptions for pets with proof of de-fleaing and a $50 deposit per animal at the owner's discretion. The nightly rate may vary somewhat during heavy usage, holidays, for larger groups, when pets are brought, etc.., again, at the discretion of the owner. Generally this will not exceed more than $50 a night per extra person or pet. Be sure to experience Golden Pond time and just relax on the screened in porch with beautiful lake views! Canoe available if desired. There will be an automatic $30 one time fee. Due to COVID we prefer guests who have been fully vaccinated.

This is a magical place. The owner's artistic expression is everywhere you look - even on the light switches. The view of the creek from one of two living rooms is so lovely. The porch is a delight. The Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to make meals. The dining room is charming. The beds are comfortable. Having two living rooms made working easy. WOW!

Cathy was absolutely the most responsive and helpful host we have ever dealt with. She answered all our questions promptly and went out of her way to make sure we were happy, leaving us lots of treats and a nice welcome card. The property is very unique - a farmhouse meets artist retreat vibe. We were visiting our son who just moved to Atlanta, and the house is very easy to to get to from the highway yet in a secluded neighborhood on a pond. The house has 2 nice bedrooms, and 2 other rooms with futons, so there was plenty of sleeping space for the 4 of us. Everything should have been perfect, but I feel I have to let prospective travelers know that the property smells strongly of mold. When we arrived and opened the door, the smell of mold immediately hit us. My daughter and I both have mold allergies, but even my husband thought the smell was strong. We did not have the budget to find another place to stay, so we cranked the AC as low as it would go, and spent as much time as possible outside on the pleasant sunporch, or just away from the house. My son wouldn't even stay with us because of the smell, which defeated the point of finding a large enough VRBO property for him to join us. Atlanta is a humid city and the house would benefit from a dehumidifier if there isn't one. Perhaps even the carpet on the lower level should be replaced. The odor was much worse there. If you aren't bothered by an "old farmhouse" smell, everything else about this property and host are wonderful.

The home was incredibly clean and convenient, with a great location in a quiet neighborhood with lovely surroundings. Very close to Stone Mountain park and convenient to groceries. This felt like a cozy stay at a friend's house and can't say enough positive things about our visit. Cathy was incredibly responsive and super flexible and accommodating on our requests.
