This old hotel in the pedestrian precinct in Lienz is a real gem. While the hotel is very old world, the rooms are nicely renovated and very comfortable. The breakfast spread in the dining room was superb and the hotel's sauna and pool area is a great place to relax at the end of the day. The view over the city and of the rugged mountains is amazing. I rate this hotel as the best value for money of any accommodation that I have booked during 8 weeks in Europe. It is also located only 5 minutes walk from the station which makes it very easy if you are traveling by train.
I could not fault anything at this hotel - it is truly wonderful.

Our room was very large and a bit dated. Bathroom was very clean and modern with an excellent shower and a bath. WC was next door which was very convenient. Biggest issue was the room was very very hot. The windows had large wooden shutters which could not be opened so the room was stifling. There was a fan but it was inadequate for the size of the room. Both reception staff and breakfast room staff were pleasant and helpful. Car parking was close and convenient.
Room was incredibly hot. The hotel bar was closed.
