The location and ambience are really nice. Beautiful garden, stunning property, well designed and equipped rooms.
Restaurant experience was quite a disappointment for us for this price range. Some combinations of ingredients were questionable.
Also we weren’t in the room the full day and nobody cleaned our room. When we made a remark about it before dinner we were told that the cleaning staff works will 12:00 but they will try to do something.
The room wasn’t properly cleaned at the end, also not a service you expect in 5 stars hotel.

Stag were excellent and Hotel is absolutely charming
Due to the building being very old air con is tricky and although they have mobile units it was still very hot. Also no swimming pool but the beach is very close.

The hotel is located in a truly beautiful and impressive setting. The grounds and garden are lovely, and the overall atmosphere of the property is very pleasant.
The restaurant was quite good, and the breakfast was also very good.
I booked two rooms at this hotel, one for myself and one for my brother: a standard double room and a junior suite.
Unfortunately, both rooms were located in a side wing of the hotel, with a view over what can only be described as the hotel’s service and waste area. I have attached photos so that this does not sound exaggerated.
Both rooms were on the second floor. Under one of them was the restaurant, which started operating at around 6 a.m. From that moment on, practically everything could be heard in the room. With the window open, cooking smells also came inside.
Under the second room was the hotel laundry. Early in the morning, we were woken by the constant noise and vibration of washing machines and dryers. The laundry door was left open most of the time, so there were also staff conversations, laughter, people moving laundry around and constant activity directly below the room. I am also attaching a photo of this area.
As this wing is located next to the hotel’s service entrance, at around 6 a.m. — on a Saturday — a delivery truck arrived and started unloading supplies. The reversing alarm was beeping repeatedly, the driver appeared to have difficulty manoeuvring, people were speaking loudly and the unloading itself created additional noise. By then I was already awake anyway because of the laundry.
Another disappointing point was the difference between the room categories. The double room and the junior suite were essentially the same size and, in practical terms, almost identical inside. Yet the junior suite cost approximately 40% more.
When I asked reception what exactly justified the difference, I was told that the more expensive room had a shower with some additional functions. I could not really identify what those special functions were, and certainly nothing that in my view justified a 40% price difference.
