About this house rental
4 Season rental! Beautiful Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Historical Events, Festivals, Art Shows all year round. Centrally located, walking distance to ALL of town. Ski Santa fe (Ski Basin) 20 min from Casa Bonita. Lots of snow, great for a all winter sports. Check out Santa fe tourism for all local Festivals. i.e Indian Market, Folk Festival, Spanish art and textile festival etc. WE EMAIL YOU A GUEST LETTER WHEN YOU BOOK. It tells you to call Poncho our property mananger to gain access to Casa Bonita. He will give you the door and alarm codes at 3 PM the day you arrive. Ask Poncho if we are able, we will get you in early on the day of arrival, It depends on our cleaning crew. When you come in thru the front door you will be amazed by our 13 foot ceilings and the size of our great room and art. We have a large 60- inch TV. It is voice activated with the remote. We have a large wood burning fireplace in the Great room. We also have a Piano. There is plenty of wood in the winter for the large fireplace. The granite kitchen is very large and fully equipped! The dining room seats 8-10 people and you can seat another 5 people in front of our granite countertop in the kitchen. We have two King beds and 5 Queen beds, a Queen sofa sleeper and very large sleeping couch. .The sleeping couch and Queen Sofa Sleeper are in the Great Room. 4 bedrooms are on the main floor and the 5th bedroom with 2 queen beds and its own bathroom is downstairs. We are a 15-17 minute walk from the center of Santa Fe and lots of restaurants, bars and Museums. We are on Palace Ave. Just walk down Palace and you are at La Posada Hotel. It is about a10 minute walk from Casa Bonita. They have a great restaurant, Julia and two bars. You are in downtown Santa Fe in 15 minutes! Or You can also turn left when you leave Casa Bonita and walk down El Alamo Street to the river, turn left, cross the street and walk to the bridge. In10 minutes you are at the Compound Restaurant. It is 5 stars! Great food and drink! If you continue walking, you are on Canyon Road and lots of art galleries and restaurants. We like Geronimo's, a 5- star restaurant and El Farol. El Farol is the oldest restaurant in Santa Fe. They have Flamingo dancing several nights a week. Make a reservation! Indian Market in Santa Fe is the biggest Native American art market in the U.S. It starts the third Thursday of August every year! Lots of Native Americans from all over the country! Paintings, Jewelry etc. Plan to Book early! Lots of fun! The annual Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque in October is a bucket list experience! You arrive just before the sunrise and watch over 300 hot air balloons take off! It is amazing! It is about 30 minutes from Santa Fe! Plan to book early! Take a coat it is chilly. We also enjoy taking the Cumbres and Tolec Scenic Train from Chama, NM to Osier ,CO in the summer. It is an old classic steam train from the mining and logging days. We recommend lunch at Osier and then a return on the train to Chama. The lunch at Osier is great! It is a day long trip and a lot of fun. The views are stunning. We have seen large herds of Elk, Deer and some Bears while riding the train. Unlike the Silverton, Colorado train you are up high in the Rockies with great views! Restaurants: We have the best location in Santa Fe and are a 15-20 minute walk to the famous Plaza and Canyon Road. There are over 100 art galleries on Canyon Road. If you come out the front door of Casa Bonita and turn left you are on El Alamo Street. Walk a half block and you are at the Santa Fe River. Turn left and go to the bridge. You can walk across the bridge to the Compound Restaurant for dinner. It takes about 10 minutes. If you continue past the Compound you are on Canyon Road and a 5 minute walk to Geronimo's and El Farol Restaurants. These are three of our favorite Santa Fe Restaurants. El Farol is the oldest restaurant and bar in Santa Fe. It was founded in the 1800's. The southwestern food is some of the best I have ever had! There are also lots of galleries on Canyon Road which are fun to stroll through. If you come out the front door and go down Palace Ave. You are a 10 to15 minute walk to the Shed Restaurant. They have great lunches and dinners. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe! If you want to eat at the shed, make a reservation! It is a popular restaurant! They open at 11 AM for lunch and close at 3 PM. They open for dinner at 5 PM . Make a reservation! If you continue down Palace Ave. you enter the Famous Plaza which has lots of art galleries and several great restaurants. There are lots of Native Americans on the Plaza selling jewelry and art. For breakfast we suggest the Plaza Cafe on the Plaza. It has a great menu. There are over 300 restaurants in Santa Fe. Wineries & Casinos: There are numerous Wineries and Casinos near Santa Fe. As you leave Santa Fe and head north towards Taos there are a number of Casinos & wineries/ tasting rooms along the highway. One of the big casinos is Buffalo Thunder. It has Las Vegas style gambling and shows! You can spend a fun day just stopping at the tasting rooms and trying their wines and enjoying the Casinos. You can also drive a half hour to Bandelier National Monument Cliff Dwellings. You can actually climb up ladders to the cliff dwellings. Some of these are over 1000 years old! Take a lunch when you go to Bandelier. Los Alamos NUCLEAR MUSEUM is about 45 minutes from CASA Bonita. It is very interesting and has the history of the ATOM Bomb and all of the famous scientists that developed them. Oppenheimer is of course the most famous. In the summer there is the World Famous Santa Fe Opera. It is a 15 minute drive from Casa Bonita. The Operas are some of the best in the country! You can also go rafting on the Rio Grand during the summer. Short Term License # STR231816

This house was a gem. It had a great size, living space, a wonderful, gourmet kitchen, and dining area. For our teenage students, the ping-pong table was a daily activity. The rooms were comfortable and plenty of bathrooms to share amongst us. I would definitely book this place again for a large group the property manager Pancho was very helpful and communicated with us when needed. I even got a phone call from the property owner welcoming us to their home. Thank you for everything.

Our family had a wonderful time at this property. There was plenty of room for us all to gather together or to have some quiet time apart. The kitchen was well stocked and the home was so warm and inviting and appointed with interesting decor and furnishings. Location is exceptional - walking distance to plaza and other areas of interest and easy drive to ski. The owners thought of everything and communication was excellent. Highly recommend!

An indoor jacuzzi and towels available plus a ping pong table. 2 Beautiful side gardens. An outdoor grill. Full size Washer & Dryer too. Close to downtown. If you are debating - book it!

Had a great time. Well stocked and great location.

Casa Bonita was a perfect spot for our reunion of college friends. It accommodated 11 adults comfortably (we squeezed in another couple for one night!) and the location was wonderful - close to Canyon Road, and a short walk along the river to the Plaza. It was particularly glorious in mid-October, with the cottonwoods in full fall color, and with the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in progress. The hosts were very accommodating in dealing with our sometimes-changing headcount. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful time staying at Casa Bonita. 5 women over 70. Perfect for us. Beautiful well stocked home.

Our family vacation back home to New Mexico was made significantly better by our stay at Casa Bonita. This home is everything you'd want to top off a Santa Fe vacation. Our family of 10 (ages 3 -62) thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay. The homeowners are fabulous to work with and personally called us to ensure our stay was going well. The local property manager (Poncho) was there on the first day to ensure we had what we needed. The property is close by art & history museums, fabulous eateries and shops galore. Thank you to Bonnie and Doug for opening this home for us to enjoy.

We were seven friends from around the country celebrating a special birthday and this house was the perfect place. Great location, size, bedrooms, and outdoor space. We loved the kitchen and outdoor courtyard. Highly recommend.

It was quite lovely to stay in a home that was well equipped, clean, walking distance to town, and comfortable for all the guests. The owners gave good advice for exploring the area and restaurants. The property manager was efficient and responsive. One of the best we have ever stayed in over the decades we have traveled together!

Lots of space indoor and outdoors for our group of 10 to hang out. Walkable to the plaza and canyon road. Poncho was very easy to communicate with and helpful.

This property is exactly as described. It's clean, quiet and in a great location to experience Santa Fe. The owner obviously takes a great deal of pride in this home. It's well appointed and easy to become comfortable.
We would definitely consider this property if we return to Santa Fe in the future.

We stayed at Casa Bonita for a family reunion - 8 adults and 1 15-month old in the house. Everyone loved it! Great location - you can walk almost anywhere you want to go. The property was lovely - huge open space where we could gather, dining space for everyone, lovely back yard to enjoy the snow (followed by warm days), bbq, table tennis (yes, we had tournaments). We didn't use the jacuzzi but everything you need is here.

The house layout allowed privacy for three families with children, ranging in ages 7-16; while at the same time offering great space for us all to be together for dinner and play! Location was great for visiting the town square as well as the proximity to Ski Santa Fe!!

The home is in the heart of it all for a visit to Santa Fe. The home is well cared for and owned by the same family for many decades. Lots of space for family fun and the kitchen is as well appointed and equipped as any we've stayed in. If the opportunity presents itself, we'd stay here again for sure.

Fabulous Santa Fe Home
This house is absolutely fabulous. Besides being absolutely spotless, everything was well stocked when we arrived. You really don't need to bring anything but your personal things. The backyard patio was a joy. We had a catered dinner brought into the house and we ate out on the patiio. Great place.

This lovely home had a wonderful private garden, great room large enough to accomodate readers, kitchen helpers and dining room game players. Our family could walk to town, so didn't need a car for everyone. Parking was easy and plentiful. A place to keep our rental bikes secure in the garage (plus an extra fridge for wine and leftovers). We enjoyed the ping-pong table and hot tub on rainy days (monsoon season! We weren't quite expecting so much rain!) We took advantage of a history walking tour, a raft trip on the Rio Grande, and also an informative e-bike tour, plus museums and of course shopping! This worked perfectly for our three-generation gathering. Thanks!

Our family (parents with adult children and their spouses) stayed in the house for a daughter’s wedding. The pictures accurately depict the property, but they don’t convey the comfort we experienced the moment we walked in the door. The layout was exactly what we needed. The master bed and bath are just inside the front door, next to the street, but it isn’t much traveled and was perfectly quiet. The living room and kitchen are open to each other, creating a warm and comfortable gathering space. The kitchen island is large and the kitchen itself is well equipped. The dining room seats 12 (14?). We used the master bedroom and the other 3 bedrooms on the main level, which line a hallway along with 2 bathrooms. The bedrooms aren’t large, but are plenty spacious. I never went down to the bedroom and bath on the lower level, but I know it’s there.
The art and furnishings are so lovely, and they create an atmosphere that tells you the house is a home.
The patio is fantastic. There are two tables with combined seating for 14, plus a couple of other seating areas for 2. It is shaded with a water feature and lovely flowers.
Our communication with Bonnie was so pleasant and I enjoyed learning of her family’s history in the house. All in all, we felt we were living in a good friend’s home, not in a rental property. I have no critical comments to add.
Finally, the location was just what we wanted. It is within walking distance of the Canyon Road galleries and other downtown attractions, but so quiet.

Loved our stay at this gorgeous house! Booked for myself and 4 discerning ladies. We are group of old high school friends who get together periodically in fabulous locations. All agreed that Casa Bonita was our best yet!
Location is great, walkable to downtown. Lovely back yard with plenty of seating, lots of shade. Bedrooms all very comfortable and best of all, the kitchen was stocked with everything you might ever need for gourmet cooking, including a very extensive spice drawer.
Highly recommend!
