It's a little way out of the city centre, but yandex taxis are so cheap it's not a problem. The hotel with the breakfast was a couple of minutes walk away. Breakfast was ok, strange to have a view of the gym! the indoor water park was fine - beware you need a swim cap and also flip flops or sandals or you can't get in. We had to buy caps at the park for 3 of us. The staff at the hotel were very kind and helpful - it felt like we were the only guests! Perhaps it was early in the season.
The resort is indeed a little tired. We were also disappointed that the outdoor water park was not yet open, at the beginning of June, even though the weather was super hot.

Perfect
The housekeeping staff didn't clean the room every day and failed to fully restock the amenities. Every time I returned to the room, something was missing—either there was no tea, no soap, or no sugar. By the last week, tea wasn't provided at all.

Great staff at reception
Spacious room with hot water, new furniture,complimentary toothbrush/paste,water,coffee,tea.
Allowed an early checkin and offered to print boarding passes.

No aircon but we left the window open a crack (this mau be problematic june-august)
Nowhere at all to exchange cash or get 'cashback' even at the bar, we were told to 2km go to megamall. We had 30 euro cash we would have paid that for 10,000 dram.
Its technically not too far from the centre but traffic was always appalling so it can take 30 minutes to reach republic square with yandex.
Gym reception were awful on our first day-the girl gave no directions to the pool or told us which changing room was for the pool(there are 5 changing rooms). She told us we needed a credit card for food..after we walked all the steps back up to our room in the soaring mid day sun after a long journey we found out we could pay cash at another bar for food. Staff insisted men buy a 1500 dram hat that he didnt need(no local man or boy was wearing one at all), hat and pool shoes cost 5000 dram together. Its a small amount but our hotel can provide these at reception alot cheaper. This was inexpensive yet felt abit 'scammy'.
Especially as its just a public pool in another hotel with potential estimates of a million school kids clubs swimming in the jacuzzi(thats not permitted usually as chlorine in jacuzzis is far too high to be healthy and if the chlorine isnt high its possibly an unclean jacuzzi), slides to distract the kids were closed for hours, lanes were taken over by kids swimming lessons,tables left dirty by cafe staff(nice staff though just paying 1200 dram for a half warm cup of coffee then theres nowhere clean to sit seems silly). An old man on our first day insisted we fully leave the pool area in our regular clothes/shoes when we just wanted to use the pool bar. I indicated food in body language as reception sent us there to that restaurant with the famous credit card only.

This is our second time in this hotel and I choose it just because of the fact that the water park is included in price - it is very comfortable especially if you are traveling with kids.
Breakfast is excellent and the staff is really helpful and friendly. I put a high score to my review especially for breakfast and the staff.
Our villa had dated furniture and a smell of smoke. I have small kids, I don’t smoke and I really don’t like the fact that it is allowed to smoke in the rooms. It’s disgusting.
Cleaning in the changing room of the water park is bad: hair of other people in the flour are awful.
Sleepers in the room are not suitable for the swimming pool as well as they are dangerously slippery especially in the changing room of the water park. Changing rooms and showers of the water park need renovation.
