Superb breakfast. After my stay at Bali Moon I stayed at a well known place on Jl Bisma close by, and the breakfast was nowhere near as good as Bali Moon. Generous fruit plate and lovely omelette made by Ketut. I had the black rice pudding twice and it was so divine.
Made and Wayan were very welcoming and accomodating. I enjoyed staying with them as it is a very traditional Balinese style place, with beautiful artwork and Balinese design everywhere. Ketut and Kadek were also really lovely. It has a great atmosphere and feel, so close to central Ubud yet in the rice paddies and close to the way Ubud used to be.
I had a very early morning pick up and I tried not to wake Made up, but he ended up helping me with my luggage to Jl Bisma. My driver didn't show up (he slept in) and Made waited with me until my Gojek arrived.
People with limited mobility or accessibility issues may struggle with some of the design with Bali Moon.
I did ask for airport transfers in the Booking.com chat when I first booked, but I didn't receive a message back so I made other arrangements. My driver didn't arrive on the morning of my departure unfortunately. As I've had issues with 4.30am early morning transfers from Ubud twice now I recognise it may have been better to follow up with a WhatsApp message to Made and Wayan directly. Made said he has many nephews that do transfers and they live locally to Ubud. I will keep that in mind next time. I've also learnt the lesson to text the driver early morning to make sure they have woken up.

Perfect location in Ubud. Right next to everything in the centre but was quiet enough that you didn't feel like you were there. The family compound is beautiful and we had a great view from our room. And the room itself was visually beautiful and nice and spacious.
The host family are really nice and helped us arrange a driver to our next destination on the day we were leaving, and he was so lovely that we even hired him for a tour a few days later.
There were lots of breakfast options and all of them were delicious. I would definitely recommend the fresh fruit platter and French toast and my partner loved the mixed juice.
There were a few minot things during our stay that I think should be mentioned for anyone considering going to know in advance:
Bring earplugs as the sounds from the birds, other animals, etc. in the morning can wake you up quite early.
The beds are extremely high off the ground, as they are both on a tall frame as well as an extra platform, which if you're short like myself made it very difficult and uncomfortable to get in and out of. We also had no side tables in our room so had to leave our things on the bed next to us at night, which was okay but we would probably suggest adding them in if they can.
Overall the room/bathroom was very clean. However, we stayed a week and our towels were never changed. We also had no hand soap so had to buy it ourselves in the shop.
