Garni Residence Trocker was our base for exploring the western Dolomites. It’s a little farther from the main tourist hub of Ortisei, but I actually recommend staying in Castelrotto. It’s less busy, peaceful, and has a lot of charm.
From the hotel, it’s an easy walk to the village centre, where you’ll find several restaurants open until around 21:00, as well as a supermarket, pharmacy and gelato shops.
The hotel itself is very good. Our room had a balcony with chairs, perfect for relaxing after a long day. Parking is convenient with easy elevator access. There’s also laundry facilities, a rooftop area with jacuzzi, pool table, and a good breakfast. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay.
The breakfast was nice, but when staying several days, eating the same selection every morning becomes a little repetitive. It would be great if some of the buffet items could change every couple of days.
One important thing missing from the room was a hot-water kettle. There was no easy way to make tea or coffee in the room, which we definitely missed.
The rooftop jacuzzi is open only from around 13:00 to 20:00. Unfortunately, we never got to use it because we were out exploring during the day and usually returned after 20:00. Especially during summer, keeping it open until around 22:00 would be fantastic for guests returning from a day in the Dolomites.

A beautiful and stylish hotel in the heart of the city. The healthy breakfast was excellent, and the rooftop jacuzzi and relaxation area were very comfortable. Check-in was easy, parking was convenient, and restaurants as well as a great ice cream shop were just a short walk away. We really enjoyed our stay.

The waiter in the restaurant tried really really hard to make up for an overall poor performance of the hotel and kitchen
Small room, high price, staff not welcoming (seem under management pressure) poor food
