Close to night market
Traffic noise from motor bikes. But that’s bcos Taiwan has not mandated electric bikes yet.

The hotel was good value for money and had spacious rooms. Some of the reception staff, especially CJ, were extremely helpful and went above and beyond.
The hotel was fairly old and run down, and has only been superficially cleaned. Did see a tiny cockroach and even though it said it was a non-smoking hotel, we did smell cigarette smoke on two of the nights we were there.
Also, it is located approximately 1 km from Chiayi Station but it is almost impossible to walk the kilometre due to footpaths being used to park scooters and cars, and one ends up walking on a busy road. We ended up catching a taxi to get to and from the hotel with luggage (which was fairly cheap).

The location was good. Everything was about a 20 min walk away. Lots of restaurants nearby and a good parking lot just down the road from the hotel.
The beds were comfortable. Great pillows.
The room was comfy enough, but in one of the rooms, a blocked drain meant that when the toilet was flushed, sewage from other rooms came back up. In the other room the window was quite dirty, looked a little mouldy.
The A/C took a long time to work in one of the rooms.
