Beautiful property, nice design, lovely pool and a relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

The service is not at five-star level. There is virtually no pool or room service, staff are not very proactive, and the wine selection and quality were disappointing. A pity, as the property itself is outstanding.

The check in - front office lady was not helpful. We requested an early check in and waited when we couldn’t even get into the room until 3:10 after check in time

Beautiful pool, nice loungers, and lovely design / decor in common areas. The bar and restaurant staff were awesome and helpful. Rooms were spacious, clean, and had a very pretty aesthetic.

Front desk / concierge were VERY disorganized with transfer bookings, could not answer basic questions, and did not meet “4-star boutique luxury” service standards generally. Housekeeping was OK, but did not meet expectations overall. Food quality was hit or miss. This is unlikely to happen frequently, but it’s worth noting that the property allowed movie filming to take place onsite without requiring a buyout from the film company, which made the entire place feel chaotic during my stay. They closed down their only indoor restaurant and some facilities / common spaces due to this. Very disappointing that they didn’t warn customers in advance in order to offer them a chance to rebook elsewhere for a more relaxing stay - I wouldn’t have stayed at this hotel had I known that filming was to be taking place on property and that the facilities would be impacted.

The staff were incredible- very attentive, kind and friendly. I loved the orientation upon arrival, the pool was beautiful with plenty of seating and the beach was lovely and quiet. Pictures don't do it justice. I really liked the continental breakfast- fruit, an egg, juice, coffee and a basket of 3-4 small baked goods with an easy option to upgrade for a fee to other menu items.

The shuttle did end up getting a bit pricey to travel into Placencia and around so next time we would get a golf cart for the week as they were very convenient. I also wish I had brought a reusable water bottle as there weren't bottles in the room but instead a large filtered water jug.
