Great experience.

Location is great. Close to beach and restaurants. Staff were very helpful. Yyy

The pool wasn’t heated, although they are fixing it. The hotel is next to a major road, you could hear the traffic sometimes at nights. Hotel is up in the hill, if you don’t like stairs, don’t stay in the hill.

Excellent. I always stay here for a reason. Quiet, reasonable rates, good air, and good beds.

I like the location as it is right above the old town area and right above the trolley. It's a hike up that hill or down that hill but I always feel better after I do it. I always try to stay here.

I don't think there is anything I don't like. I guess the staff could be more careful parking the vehicles as twice I've come to find that the hotel vehicles were too far over and blocking an normally available space. They should be careful to park closer to the stairs or way within the lines so as not to make it difficult or impossible for guest to park.

Lovely room in a special hotel!

Loved the bar, staff, and the pool! Our room was spacious and faced the ocean. The cleaning crew did a great job on the days we requested room service. No kids! Bed was super comfy.

Stairs!!!! So many stairs. If you don’t mind stairs, this place is for you. There was also no phone to reach the reception desk.

Overall nice but needs lessons in cleaning

Location was great. Room size was good. Bed was very comfortable. It was quiet at night which is important to me. Shower pressure was acceptable.

I don’t understand how when a room is cleaned that housekeeping can’t make sure there aren’t hairs all over the place. My bed has more hair in the top cover than a hair salon. Was disgusting. Long hairs on the floor. A hair ball in the shower. I spend 20 min wiping hair off all surfaces. Truly nasty

The rooftop pool is pretty nice for what you're paying for. Wasn't really packed with a whole lot of people which was nice. Didn't get to really check it out at night time as I was on a group trip and we were out most of the time. But overall pretty decent.

I do wish that the AC blue a little bit cooler. As my room faced the sun majority of the day it did not get very cool inside.

even though it’s not on the beach, it’s just a little ways up the hill in a very nice area

the rooms are very nice

only thing I can complain about is the neighborhood rooster in the early morning

Great location and good value--just be aware not all rooms have views.

There is a small amount of free parking, which is so helpful if you have a car. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite spacious with plenty of storage for your clothes and luggage.

Our room looked at a concrete wall--so the photos are misleading in terms of that aspect. It didn't really matter since we were barely in the room, but it was surprising. No coffee in the room, but there is an excellent little cafe about 100 meters down the hill.

Wonderful place, would stay there again!

Great location, staff was wonderful. Room very pleasant. Loved the rooftop pool - it was small, more like an oversized hot tub size - but very comfortable and the views were amazing.

Restaurant not open when I was there which was kind of a bummer.

Great hotel value, very convenient, and super friendly staff

Great value for location. Clean. Quiet. Nice rooftop pool. Staff was super helpful and friendly.

The hotel is on top of a hill. While this was fine for me and totally walkable folks should be aware (using taxi was convenient though). They also only give one set of keys to guests per room. The staff was totally accommodating in letting you in at all hours of the night if folks get split up but it would be more convenient if there were two sets of keys.

loved the location and patio in our room. bed was comfortable & the fridge is a nice addition.

loud construction during the day and although I believe the room was clean, there was a slight unfinished/old feel to the shower and room that made it feel less clean.

This hotel is defined by its wonderful roof and fabulous staff.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel roof top has the most beautiful view I have seen. You can enjoy the mountains and ocean from the roof top pool and get a drink from the roof top bar as well.

Our room had an ok view, interior facing. That is not a very big issue however since the room was cheaper as a result!

Wonderful stay with comfortable room/huge balcony & walking distance to beach/restaurants/bars

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Amaca. The staff were all great and helpful. The room was a nice size, and we had a huge private balcony with couch/dining area! The bed was comfortable. We appreciated the in-room safe. The pool area/bar on the roof is a great addition. The location was perfect for us as it was walking distance to beach/restaurants/bars, but a little removed to provide a more quiet location for sleeping. There are stairs to climb to reach the hotel and at the hotel, so that should be taken into consideration. There is a gondola-thing to help with some of the stairs to get up to the hotel, but we never used it.

The bathroom was small and didn't have ventilation. Overall this didn't take away too much from our stay, but if ventilation could be improved, that would be nice (but not sure it's feasible).
