About this chalet rental
Nestled in Murren, this lovely chalet for $1,220 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Chalet Candamo is a luxurious 5-bedroom chalet in the centre of Mürren, a traffic-free village; refurbished in 2010 to offer spacious and luxurious accommodation for 10 people, stylishly decorated and furnished, and intelligently designed for practical convenience and comfort. The top floor of the chalet is given over to a splendid living space open to the eaves in the dining/living area where two sets of French windows open on to a balcony facing one of the most famous views in the Swiss Alps: the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau Mountains. The heavy oak dining table seats 10 with elbow room and 3 comfortable sofas are grouped around the glassed in wood-burning fire. For the summer there is a secure garden with a BBQ and outdoor furniture so that you can relax and enjoy the amazing views. Guests will notice many personal and homely touches in the chalet and those with an interest in skiing history will notice many decorative details Chalet Layout: The ground floor has a front door which leads into a front hall with coat hooks and shoe racks. There are two large bedrooms, with twinbeds that join as one if needed and plenty of wardrobe space; one bathroom with individual shower and bath, a laundry room, and a boot room with boot heaters and a ski rack with an outside door opening almost onto the piste. The first floor comprises two large bedroom with superking beds, ample wardrobe space and balcony; one double bedroom again with a large wardrobe; one bath/shower room, one shower room/WC and one WC. The top floor, the main living area, is open to the eaves, a south facing mainly glass aspect with a large balcony. It also has a shower room/WC, a semi open plan kitchen and a television room with a sofa bed and chest of draws which could double as a cooks bedroom if needed.

Chalet Candamo is over the top wonderful. It truly is luxerious in every way. Our family of 10 spent 5 days here. It honestly is perfect in every way. My wife and I (and sometimes family) have stayed in Murren or Wengen at least 15 times over the past 30 years and without a doubt this home is our favorite. The location is perfect...as my son said: "just 86 steps to the COOP". The view is awe inspiring; it truthfully took my breath away. Beds are comfortable and with 5 bathrooms there was never a wait. The kitchen is better stocked with dishes, silverware and pots and pans than any I've experienced. We never were wanting in spite of cooking in for dinner.....rosti, sausages and fondue... every night.
My only disappointment is that it is too big (and expensive) for just my wife and I to rent when we return.....and we will return. As my daughter just told me: "I'm ready to go back today". By the way, for the first time we did paragliding which should not be missed. We enjoyed it so much, we all did it a second time.

Perfect place for large families. Nice rooms and perfect location. Couldn’t find any espresso cups 😂. That was the biggest challenge. Again, highly recommended!

Our stay at Chateau Candamo was perfect for our group of 6 adults. The location is truly awesome and the facilities were everything we could have hoped for. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bedrooms were very comfortable and the living room was great for relaxing after a hard day of hiking and sight-seeing. The Coop was just down the street and we enjoyed several great meals at restaurants close by.
Mürren is the perfect place to be based for a visit to the Bern Oberland. There is easy transportation connections to surrounding villages and sights.
Edwina was very easy to communicate with and her instructions and suggestions were greatly appreciated. The onsite property managers were very helpful as well.
All said, we would go back to Chateau Candamo tomorrow if we could. I recommend it without hesitation.

We spent a great week in the chalet in July/August. The chalet is absolutely perfect: well equipped kitchen, very clean, lots of space, comfortable furniture, and breathtaking views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Additionally, the chalet is located close to the Coop which makes grocery shopping very easy.
The booking process was straight forward and the owner was pleasant to work with.

Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chalet Candamo. It was a truly luxurious experience, with lots of space and plenty of bathrooms for everyone. Beautiful views from every room, fully equipped and expertly organized kitchen. Central location, just steps from the supermarket, and an easy walk to the train and lift stations. We would absolutely stay here again next time we vacation in the area.

Chalet Candamo worked perfectly for us, as a very comfortable base for a week of hiking and biking and relaxing in the most beautiful of all Swiss mountain resorts. Ideal location, terrific view, lots of bath/shower rooms ... and equipped with all we needed (once we found the well hidden knife drawer). At the end of a hot day on the hoof it was a great treat to come back and watch Wimbledon on TV. We came to the chalet via word of mouth so my non-committal rating for the online listing is meaningless.

We adore this chalet and go back each year. The position is unbeatable, it is beautiful inside and out and Murren itself is as ‘chocolate box’ pretty as it gets. Another heavenly holiday - all brilliantly managed- thank you!

This is our ninth annual visit to the Inferno week staying in Chalet Candamo. We fill the chalet with skiing friends and bring our own cook. The chalet is the height of luxury and convenience combined. Directly opposite one of the main ski lifts, it is ideally located for all the facilities that Murren has to offer. From the upstairs double height living area one has uninterrupted views of the Eiger, Monk and Jungfrau which are breathtaking. From the compact but highly efficient kitchen, cook produces meals for 10 people with ease.
The living area features a wonderful fireplace, a satellite TV system and high end music system. The ski room is fitted with a superb automated boot warming unit and all the bedrooms feature built in wardrobes and DAB radio alarm clocks with USB and blue tooth connectivity.
There are wooden balconies on the first and second floors overlooking the private garden which features the most picturesque old wooden goat house belonging to the chalet.

Wonderful stay in Chalet Candamo. Weather was fantastic and not enough time to do everything in just one week. The Trummelbach Falls in Stechelberg are a must, biking is brilliant, especially for those of us who don't like going up hills but who want to cycle with our other halves who do - e-bikes rented from Lauterbrunnen - excellent invention. Walking was amazing, so so beautiful. Swimming in the melt lakes and lying in the sun. BBQs every night and we were even there for the Dorf Fest which was spectacular. We didn't stop except when we fell into our sumptuous beds at night. Great week.

We have stayed all over the world and this is one of the nicest homes we have ever had the pleasure of staying. Wonderful views, impeccably decorated, clean, perfect kitchen, with an ideal location. We were close to everything. The owner, Edwina, was very enjoyable to work with. It is wonderful for her to share her home. If we return we will definately stay here again.

Chalet Candamo is the most comfortable and relaxing rental we have ever stayed in, it really is a home from home. The attention to detail and the whole layout of the chalet is great. We loved all the skiing history and the names on the bedroom doors, with the most amazing stories associated with the names, all based in Murren.
Murren, is an exquisit village, completely unspoilt . A great combination. We would all love to revisit this jewel.

Had a glorious week in this beautiful village situated on a mountain ledge in Switzerland. What an amazing place Murren is. The chalet is beautiful, it is definitely the best place you could possibly stay in Murren, the chalet is first class throughout. The contact with the owner, Edwina ,was great, she was friendly and efficient, nothing too much trouble, as were her staff in Murren.
Will definitely coming back to this lovely home.

A lovely holiday in a beautiful home. The chalet is amazingly luxurious; spacious sitting room with very comfortable seating, well stocked kitchen with a great view of the piste and a piste board so you can read what's open without even getting dressed. Very comfortable beds, lovely linen and unbeatable pillows! A really good find, will definitely come again. The position is unbeatable, right on the piste and only a few steps to the nearest lift. In the centre of the village, with a lovely garden and goat shed, amazing uninterrupted views in all directions. Very clean and well maintained. Highly recommend.

Our group stayed for a week last Summer and this is the best place you can stay in Murren. Great central location. Everything about the chalet is first class. The views are unreal. The local contacts are wonderful with a wealth of knowledge and recommendations. If your coming to Switzerland to be outdoors and hike, Murren is a wonderful base. A multitude of great hikes right outside your door to beautiful areas away from the crowds. The video we took along the via ferrata leaves people speechless. We all left part of our heart in Murren.

The chalet was wonderful! You will have hard time finding a nicer place anywhere on the mountain. Management was very helpful and accommodating. Such a pretty area and so many available activities.

What a lovely place to stay in Murren! The chalet is indeed luxurious but still comfortable and homey. A full kitchen with all the gadgets that you need. Tons of well furnished bedrooms and bathrooms.
The local lady in charge of the place is really lovely and helpful. The town is amazing to stay in the summer- a different hike every day and paragliding to boot. Highly recommend both the chalet and Murren!
(We stayed the first night at the base of the hill in Lauterbrunnen. Next time I would skip that town- stay in Interlakken instead if you don't think you will make it to Murren in time.)
