The hotel is modern and offers a great variety of facilities, there is a convenience store on site, which is great to have, and the onsen overlooks a beautiful lake. Especially friendly was Peter Howlett, a member of the staff with great interest in the Ainu culture who kindly lent us some books he translated, they were most interesting! So rare to find a hotel nowadays that has staff who actually has knowledge about the local area.
The breakfast was pricy at 3200 yen per person, and the dinner buffet at double that also not a bargain. the window in our room was quite dirty which limited the view, and the bathroom dated.

Nice view of the forest and lake.
Check-in staff won't listened despite me trying to tell him that reservations were made in our Christian names which are not included in our passports. No complimentary water bottles in room and bathroom's double taps were difficult to switch around.
