Everyone always has a different experience, and here is our rental experience. We found the apartment to be nice (no pun intended) and fairly well located, although not completely clean; ironically, the owner asked us to make sure the apartment was clean before we left as she had people arriving on the same day we departed.
Here is what ruined our experience… the hot water stopped working on the second day of our 7 day trip. The owner, who is apparently often out of town, which is when the apartment is generally free, could not be contacted directly. We were forced to contact her father who grudgingly looks over the apartment when his daughter is gone. Long story short, the hot water was not restored before we departed. We emailed the owner several times concerning the matter but received no response. We thought she might refund a portion of the money, or at the very least have the decency to apologize; however, neither happened.
