Boathouse - Birks River Retreat

The Boathouse exceeded our expectations plus more!! The location was tranquil and nothing beats waking up to a river view. The interior was beautiful and you could tell a lot of thought had gone into the decor. It could be featured in a magazine. Wendy and Phil made us feel very welcome and Phil even checked we had enough firewood, that was very much appreciated. The breakfast provisions was very generous and there was a well stocked kitchen. They also checked a few times if there was anything that we needed. The cleanliness of the The Boathouse was outstanding, thank you Julia.

The bed was a little hard for me however my husband had no complaints.

We enjoyed 3 nights at the Boathouse, and from the point of arrival we knew it was going to be a highlight of our Road Trip. We are 3 weeks in with another 11 weeks to go and very appreciative to Phil and Wendy that we got to stay in their property. We met Phil shortly after arrival and he gave us many tips on restaurants and activities in the area. Communication during our stay was prompt when required. The Boathouse is very well equipped with everything you would need for a 3+ night stay – plus more. The decor is well suited to the theme of the Boathouse with an abundance of thoughtful knickknacks which complement a feeling of relaxation, privacy and an experience to remember. We highly recommend this place to anybody coming to this region and rate it so high that my wife and I have agreed it to be up with the best places we have stayed at within Australia and Europe over the past four years of extensive travel (Approx 150 stays).

nothing - the place is faultless

A beautiful spot on the water, the perfect size for two & facilities comfortable. Has everything you need in one spot and walking distance to everything else.

Wish the dining chairs were shorter so you could see the beautiful boat view from the bed - but this didn’t impact our stay at all. Still 10/10

Great spot great little cabin everything you need we had great weather sitting out in the deck watching the boats go past such a relaxing place to stay
