From the moment we arrived at Houghton Place, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. Pat greeted us warmly and showed us to our spacious, beautifully presented room.
The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and after a long day of travelling we enjoyed one of the best night’s sleeps we’d had in a while.
After heading out for dinner, we returned to find our wonderful hosts, Janice and Sam, who kindly invited us to join them for a glass of wine and a chat. What started as a simple conversation turned into a lovely evening that made us feel completely at home.
Each morning began with a superb breakfast, with a great selection including eggs and bacon, fresh fruit salad, cereals and yoghurt—everything you could want to start the day.
Houghton Place is more than just a wonderful place to stay; it’s a place where genuine hospitality shines through. We arrived as customers and, a few days later, left as friends. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Excellent location, close to large amount of offices around Roseberg and Sandton but still in a quiet and relatively safe housing area. Big rooms and bathroom with big shower and a bathtub. Exceptionally nice hosts. Clean big rooms with tea and coffee maker in the room and a big television. You can open the large windows and hear the birds singing. Plus loads of storage space - world record for that in a room ever. Definitely coming back.
Nothing. Oh, but you do have to like dogs :-) But they were very nice to the me as a guest even when returning late. They love it if you give them some attention.
